Fact of the matter is: I refuse to pay $15 for a matinee showing at my local theater (not including concessions) for a shite movie.

How much WOULD you pay for a shite movie then?

When the "not critics'" reviews started coming out several weeks before the movie entered general release, it was kind of obvious that there was collusion.

Dude.

The site is good.

Popcornmeter tells the tale.

Who cares about the critics?! Woke bastards.

My favorite Rotten Tomatoes critic swipe is always American Sniper; Tomatoemeter (critics) was at 17%, while Popcornmeter was 99%. It has even'd out over the last decade. I knew is was going to be amazing from that....

Why do you need any film critics review. Just watch a preview of the film and if it looks interesting go see it, if not then don’t. Don’t overthink it.

Back when the ticket price for a matinee was $5 I would go to the movies every weekend.

It sounds pretentious but this is me as well. Movies are an art form in which people have different pallets, much like food or music. I appreciate the frick out of well made films that are original, have meaning and symbolism in them, and make you think and feel something after dedicating 2 hours to them. A lot of times real films will have a bad audience score from the marvel/jurassic park/summer action movie crowd that just want to be entertained.

Don’t get me wrong. I appreciate a good mindless action flick as well, but I prefer Indy movies with great acting that require thinking. So, yeah, normally a high critics score with low audience score tells me this isn’t for the average movie watcher. They aren’t ALWAYS good, but almost always have something meaningful to portray

The only genre I don’t follow RT on is horror. This is always all over the place. I’ve hated high rated critics ones and loved low rated ones.

Just to sound less douchey I’m the opposite with music. I can appreciate the oldies but don’t “get” all these obscure rock bands that are always talked about on the music board. I can admit my taste in music sucks

I use reverse reviews. If a movie is hated by critics it's usually loved by the audience because the majority of the "critics" are self-fellating progressive leftist blowhards with an inflated sense of self worth. Just look at the movie/tv board.

Congratulations, your favorite movies of the year must Tron Ares and the Colleen Hoover flick Regretting You. Maybe Wicked 2, if that moderate disparity meets your reverse threshold.

You guys are full of shite. Audience and Critics scores on RT are usually roughly aligned.
