Used to swim as a kid in the Holidome in Houma when my grandparents would come in for Christmas. It had an indoor pool. Fancy shite for Houma in the seventies. And I thought it was so cool to swim in December

My favorite was the late night trip to the airport we made to pickup the stewardess that did overnights in Monroe. Delta didnt let the pilots and stewardesses stay in the same hotel. The Holidome always got the stewardess. That was always a fun pickup.
My my.. I really all of a sudden want to know more about these late night stewardess pick-ups!

I meet people from all walks of life and most where down to have a good time at the Holidome.
That was kind of the feel during the late 70's and early 80's. People were just better at socializing than they are now, and had more fun because of it.

I was watching Jaws 2 last night and reading some trivia about it today. They filmed the hotel grand opening scene at the one in Navarre Beach.
I was there when they were filming Jaws 2. There was a mechanical shark in the parking lot, we thought it was so cool at the time. My parents were invited into the theatre to watch Roy Scheider's first movie with the cast. It was his birthday apparently. Fun times! ??

Grew up in New Orleans and my Dad would take my Sister and I to the Holidome in Covington sometimes on a weekend. We would swim in the indoor/outdoor pool and play in the arcade area all day. It felt like a vacation when we were kids lol

Was staying at a Holidome in Shreveport as a kid for a travel soccer tournament the night LSU beat #1 Florida. Remember it like it was yesterday.

1. There is a part in Jaws 2 that was filmed there.
2. My friends family used to own a condo down the road from there. We went down there one day and a drunk college guy tried to jump from the balcony into the pool. Everything went into the pull but his head. It exploded. Ugly!!!

Navarre beach holidome had an arcade too. Had narc, double dragon, gauntlet, super off road
My friend and I used to go to the pizza place in the Holidome and then go to the Arcade. So fun. Made out with a lot of chicks on the balcony and the beach back in high school. Late 80’s early 90’s. I was 15, she was 18, what a summer. ??

I’ve stated in a holidome in Alexandria as recently as 2010 for a wedding.

Now she'd be hauled off to jail.

Kids and adults are too busy on their phones to be worrying about hanging out and playing putt putt.

Looks kinda like an Embassy Suites.

Always looked forward to staying at the one in Covington. We’d be there for a week every year for the Southeast La Livestock Show.

Stayed at the one in Monroe for 3 weeks back in 2006 for work. Watched the Saints/Falcons game at Bobbisox. When Glesson blocked the punt it got wild in there. Everything said about that place in this tread is absolutely right. Fun times. I remember it being a huge hotel with a another wing with a courtyard

We stayed at the condos next door to that Holidome. My mother absolutely hated the smell of chlorine in the hotel. We would visit family members who stayed there and go swimming in the pool if it was raining. I thought it was cool. Every time someone mentions that place I can recall the smell of chlorine from the pool. Walking past the cigarette vending machines too lol.

As a small child, I got such a kick out of swimming under the plastic drapes between the inside and outside of the pool. I thought it was the coolest thing ever.
Off topic, but the Hilton in Biloxi had a "tunnel" beneath part of the deck in its swimming pool. The tunnel was probably no more than four feet long and probably was as wide, but as a kid it felt dangerous.
