The author was a pretty nice guy who visited with our class when I was kid. They sold well here in BR, especially the Christmas book. Thought about this the other day for some reason.

Crawfish man represented La better than inbreds chasing alligators or fictional rougarou on "reality" tv.

My dad was friends with the author (Tim Edler??) so I had all of the books and were signed. Sadly I think they were lost in the flood

I loved these in elementary school! Brings back a lot of memories from back when I used to read these and books by Judy Blume, Roald Dahl, Shel Silverstein, Thomas Rockwell, Madeline L'Engle, etc.

I was actually goin thru a chest-of-drawers the other day and ran across like 6 or so of the comics out of that series. Ron Guidry, Crawfish Man, Dark Gator etc, in almost perfect condition, 1st or 2nd editions(I'd have to look), signed by the author and even accompanied by the audio cassettes for each book. Didn't even realize they were there. Now to see what can be done with them?
