Yeah six hours is about tops for me for driving.

I love a road trip. Moved to Pennsylvania in 1998 and I love the drive from Baton Rouge to New York City.

Drive. You’d be a third of the way or possibly half way to your destination by the time you even board a flight then you have to rent a car or Uber everywhere.

After driving 10 hours to Orlando, 6 hours is the most I want to drive going forward

8 hours or longer drive before I consider flying

7 hours is usually my breakover point. I will take shorter flights if I am tight on time but if not I don't mind driving up to 500 miles. Longer than that and I need a good reason to drive. Our camp is about 775m and we usually drive there because we are almost always hauling things back and forth.

Flying sucks.
And 6 hours? That's a 45 minute flight from runway to runway. That's not even worth the hassle of going to the airport and blowing 2 hours, dealing with other people, shite parking, rental cars, and they'll likely lose your luggage.

The drive to Orlando isn't bad. I kind of enjoy it.
The ride home is like a torture and the reason we usually fly now.

I did this exact thing just a couple months ago. Drove from just north of Bham to Peoria, IL for a work conference. Think it was a little over 9 hours drive time plus stops, just shy of 600 miles. I stopped once for fuel and twice to eat (breakfast and lunch). I’d made the same trip via air just a couple months before. The experience was so horrid (and I fly a lot) that I chose to drive this time. I enjoyed it so much more than flying, from now on unless I have to cross an ocean, I’m most likely going to drive.
Disclaimer: I get a vehicle allowance, have a company fuel card, and get paid mileage for business travel. But even if I didn’t, driving is far better than flying now. Our air transportation system has, in many cities, completely broken down and no longer functions.
ETA: it took less travel time driving to Peoria in August than it did to fly in June due to the repeated delays at literally every stop. And my truck is far more comfortable than even first class on a flight.

I enjoy road trips. I don't consider 6 hours that long. I would rather drive 6 hours. I have been on driving trips to Colorado and Wyoming.

I can’t imagine that. The entire flying process is so much fun - baggage claim, TSA, boarding, seat recline, deplaning, baggage claim.
Under 6, getting into car

8 hours or less, I’m probably driving. Its 45 minutes to drive to the airport and have to be there 1.5 to 2 hours before the flight. Add in time in the air, waiting on baggage claim, then dealing with getting a rental car and the amount of time saved flying isn’t worth it.
More than 8 hours, it depends on how long I’ll be there, how much driving I’ll need to do once there, and how much longer than 8 hours the drive is.
