Rc, I had the same problem.
Basically, have to take it off the watch and wash it with a bit of laundry soap.

I really like this Victorinox. Been thinking of pulling the trigger for weeks now and may cave soon.

I tried a NATO band and it started smelling after a while due to sweat.
Soak in a combination of hydrogen peroxide and rubbing alcohol.

This is my watch but I switched out the fabric strap for rubber. Hooooly hell that thing stank after a few months. I bought mine a few years ago and it has been a great watch. I do not like how it has become so trendy with the frat stars as of late.

That rubber strap on my watch I posted has been on there since day one. Most of my time is spent walking through the woods, so TIFWIW. Rubber holds up just fine
Mine broke after about 2.5 years. I got it caught on shite and yanked a lot though. ZULU bands I wear it on now hold up better to that. Plus I like having the buckle hardware off to the side instead of against the inside of the wrist. Doesn't press into your carpal tunnel when putting your arm down on a table or carrying something heavy in your arms

What does one like that sell for?

Look at the German pilot watches if you're into that style. Laco, Sinn, Stowa...some cool cases and dials between those.

It's just a colormark 3050 with the white numbers/markings. The original rubber strap broke about a year ago but before that I had been switching it between bands some. Broke out the orange Zulu band for the summer. When it gets to where I'm wearing jeans and boots a lot again I'll switch it back to the grey Zulu band.
Cost from a retailer I believe is just shy of $300. This one was from amazon for a count hair over $200. No warranty though since amazon is considered a grey market dealer.

Love/hate these threads. Every time one pops up I end up wanting one of these watches.

The "Germasian" pilot watches are nice. If your budget is a little lower and you're looking for a nice large pilot, try a maratac.

Did you replace the strap yourself? I'm thinking of doing something similar with my Luminox. Your orange strap is awesome.

Damn this thread. I'm now wanting to spend money.

Have had the 3051 blackout for about 3 years now and it WAS my go to watch. About. 2 weeks ago it fell off my bed post (about 3ft) hit the wood floor & the damn 3 o'clock tritium bar fell out of place & is now wondering about inside the face of the watch. Called luminox warranty & repair & it's going to cost around $125-$130 to fix, kinda disappointed right now over a 3 ft fall. At this point I'm wearing the trusty g-shock. I would not recommend a luminox.

Yea I did, just got a 22mm ZULU strap from Amazon. I prefer the 3 ring because the 5 ring gets a little bulky with a ZULU. $15-$20 for the strap. I have a couple colors. Good thing about them is you don't really need a spring bar tool to switch between them, you just weave them through the spring bars.

Fabulous watch. I own the JSAR
That is automatic correct?
Price new?
Average Watchuseek price?

I have the same watch except in a black nato. I think I paid 260 or so. The rubber band lasted 2 years.

IIRC, half of their watches are automatic and half mechanical. When I first wanted one, their prices were much lower, but IIRC, they are all between $500 and $1000 for the autos, and $750-1500 for the mechanical watches. They are not small by any means

The JSAR is high torque quartz.
Price for the watch with rubber strap is around $700.
Price for the stainless bracelet is around $200.
Figure a grand to be safe. The quality for a tool watch really is very, very good.
Not my pics:
