I was prescribed Mounjaro which is basically the same thing. I was borderline type 2 diabetic. My A1C was 6.9, at 7.0 you're considered type 2 diabetic. I was and still am overweight but I've lost 57 lbs and my A1C is down to 5.7. Since I was borderline diabetic, my insurance pays for it and along with a coupon from Eli Lilly, who manufactures the drug, I pay $40.00 for 4 shots. I've had no side effects. I highly recommend it.

Ills give you that point, but I've noticed that it's helping to change the way I'm thinking about food. It does help to remove the "pleasure" association with it. That helps to diminish the "food noise" that a lot of people who struggle with weight have.

I was off it for about 2 months because of supply issues. I didn't gain anything back and was pretty much able to stay on the plan I came up with to keep me from wanting to puke every time I ate.

I lost 60 pounds. I can’t see it because the Ozempic made me blind, but I’m told I look great.

I started Ozempicor in May and lasted 5 weeks and had to stop because of the side effects. I could not stand not being able to go to the gym or work in the yard due to nausea or being very sensitive to heat.

I did lose 10lbs.

Im down 35 pounds and no longer pre-diabetic, no longer have hypertension, no longer on my high cholesterol medicine. I want to go down another 15-20 pounds and I will give it up. Use it as a tool and not a complete substitute.

Side affects = bloating, constipation, high costs, sulfur burps.

It works. The problem is that the weight comes back without lifestyle changes.

I take it. Down 33 lbs since February. No sides but I also workout 5 days a week, drink a shite ton of water and get a high amount of protein in daily. Down to 186 lbs at 5’10 and shredded thanks to taking it and also going to the gym. Love this stuff.

If it’s bad enough to consider injecting that crap into yourself, just do gastric bypass and be done with it.

Seems like a temporary fix that may work in short term. Likely won’t last and could have bad side effects.

True lifestyle changes are better/healthier/can last.

This is probably the best answer. I was not prescribed for weight loss. I am a Type 2 diabetic who has maintained an A1c between 6.5 to 7.0 with Metformin and Jardiance. I had a recent spike and my doctor recommended Ozempic. I believe the spike is due to not managing my diet while dealing with some recent family and financial issues. My inclination is to push to get back to a healthier lifestyle and forego the Ozempic at this time due to my concerns about the side effects. It seems there are valid side effects concerns which can randomly affect certain people. If it gets to the point where the rewards might exceed the risks I may try it. I am not sure that is the case.

I knew I could count on Dr. O. T. Lounge to render great advice.

I had 30 pounds to lose and lost them in 5 months. I wasn’t very overweight to begin with. My sister lost 13 pounds in her first month and that was on the low starting out dosage.

I settled on 20, side effects were very mild (some nausea but they give you Zofran, and my shits were hit or miss).. I plateau-ed a bit when I got closer to my goal, went to 30, and shite was TERRIBLE. I didn’t have a normal trip to the bathroom once in 3 weeks. And a couple days I thought I had food poisoning cuz I kept puking my brains out.

Went back down to 20 and I’m probably going to stay on it a little longer then do a maintenance dose after so I don’t gain it all back.

Shut up boomer. It’s a peptide. I’m sure it’s not the best thing to put in your body but there are waaaaaaay worse things than peptides that people inject or eat.

It’s a cheat code and people are using it. Good for them.

It is not only for people 200 pounds overweight. Most people do not qualify for gastric bypass nor do they want or need one.

I was 30 pounds overweight and got to my goal in a few months.

“Google Ozempic lawsuit”

Scary ! I recently read about some people going blind from it,was detailed in the article about the lawsuits.
There’s no way I would take any drug that hasn’t been out for at least 5 years.
I had a co-worker that jumped on fen-phen when it first came out, wrecked her heart.

I got down voted and ridiculed on the health and fitness board when I stated I would do the gastric sleeve surgery before I would take Ozempic for weight loss.
I still stand by that position.

Not a boomer, and I promise you I know more about everything you typed out than a lot of people. It would take two hands for me to count the people I know personally that went the gastric route, I know that some Doctors gave a shite when it came to the guidelines for it, and some didn’t. Or, go to Mexico for the easy route and end up dead a day after you get home. I get a lot of people or losing weight with it but that can be done without injecting that crap into yourself. Does it really make people that would usually eat whenever just all of a sudden not hungry? I have a hard time trusting something like that.
