I received an email about an incident from the school, but due to the ages they did not say what happened. I heard something went down in the library with a student and someone was arrested.

This is weird. Ages shouldn’t matter as to the school notifying parents what happened. Ages should only affect them releasing the names.

I understand not releasing names because of this, but why not describe the event to parents - especially if someone was arrested?

I agree. It said we want to inform you about an incident. The next paragraph said due to ages we can’t share details. So I guess they didn’t want to inform about the incident.

What’s the point of the email? Due to the ages, I can understand not posting names, but the email is pointless without describing incident correct?

I think the point of the email was to inform folks that there was no threat to student safety, although police response was required.

Still, annoying to read and have zero information beyond that.

U-High seems to be transitioning to a public school here lately.

It IS a public school since LSU is a public university.

Take your kid and try to enroll them at Uhigh then try to enroll them at Dufrocq. Let me know how the process goes for each and how much you are charged to attend each one.

Agreed. The school should release enough information and provide context clues to where the parents can easily figure out by asking their kids who the school is referring to.

How can a public school transition into a public school?

UHigh isn’t really a public school and everyone knows this.

They seem to be having problem after problem

I thank God every day that my kid wasn't good enough to go there.

Nope. I asked my 9th grader and she had no idea. It was a weird email to get at the end of the day.
