Yes. I'm a slave to the dollar. In so deep now I can't afford the pay cut.

Sometimes, but I don't know what else I could do and make the same or more to continue to enjoy the non work related things I do. It's a dilemma.
I'm 45 so it's probably just mid life regrets and thus I shrug it off and continue helping clients.
It could definitely be worse. Bad career and unhappy.

I'm between projects now. I am kind of here just preparing for our next client. I'm paid well but slow times like this make me absolutely crazy.

Well, listen if any of you are feeling "trapped" in their high paying job, I'll gladly relieve you if you'd like to go pursue other life choices.

the past 4 years I've made excess 185k and my boss is an idiot - and I don't want her job. But I realize that I really don't have anything to bitch about other than my boss is a idiot.

Nah. I quit and switched fields as fast as I could. Don't miss it one bit.

Nope. Pretty damn happy with my job. I would like to have gone to college but didn't. My current employer does tuition reimbursement, so I may go ahead and check off that box while I am here. The job I have currently in my industry/employer is considered a retirement job and I landed it in my mid 30s. So like I said, pretty damn content.

Sometimes I feel I climbed the ladder a little too fast. If they'll give me the money, I'll give it a shot. 4 months or so into this position and its stressful. Made enough for the wife to stay home. Luckily she decided she wanted to go back to work. That'll take some pressure off. Hoping as I spend more time with this job, it will get easier for me.

Not me. I've avoided the opportunities I have had in Medical and Pharm sales to stay with something more stable and better benefits but have become accustomed to the lower salary.

At times, I wish I made more but I still do alot of the same things as a sales rep would do, but without the pressure and job insecurity.

Yep. I don't spend half the money I make but something about taking a huge cut in pay doesn't seen right.

Being single, no kids I'm in the perfect situation to make a bold move like that, I just think too conservatively to risk anything I have.

I love my job I just wish it was not in the bay area. I make too much to leave though.

I hear you. I'm in the same boat. Things will likely be very slow for at least the next 6 months, or until I can get out of this job and into my next one.

I spend most of my days now relearning spanish, with an occasional detour through the Rant. Coming to work nowadays is very painful, but I make a very good salary so quitting would be non-sensical.

Wishing you could change the game and do something more fulfilling?

Yeah, the good news is that I do the something more fulfilling as a part-time job, which I really enjoy and it brings in some extra cash. I wouldn't be able to support my current lifestyle if I quit the day job though... plus the day job has excellent benefits.
