If you’re referring to camping then yes, I’m into it.

Well it’s obvious you overlooked the quotations surrounding “overland”.

I’d love to but life/wife/new kid make it tough. Closest I got was several years ago I picked up a free camper shell from someone on the OB, I built a roof rack for the top for my kayaks, wired up some lighting inside and out, solar panel, etc. bought one of those truck bed air mattresses and we camped out of it in Colorado. Occasionally when out on fishing trips and the weather is decent I throw the kayak on the roof and sleep in the back instead of getting a hotel. I planned on doing more stuff like that but life often gets in the way.

That’s a sweet rig. I hope your fortunes turn and you’re able to get more time with it!

I have a 100-series land cruiser... that overlanded in the valet in Vail this weekend. I really want a rtt and some rear drawers for next summer though.

Check out IH8mud. Those guys have nearly everything Toyota and “overlanding” already figured out.

My wife and I just bought our first trailer, along with a RTT, and have camped in it a few weekends now at local parks. We’re looking forward to getting it out on the trails and camping for up to a week at a time.

Nice cement Taco, I have 20 OR DCSB MGM. Been thinking about getting some KB voodoo bars and a tent for it.

Same name for me over at TacomaWorld.

I’m really into it. Have a new project in the works on my truck, also a Toyota. I’m building out a truck bed topper/camper shell into an insulated, livable full time camper (couch/bed, sink, stove, hideaway toilet, shower, solar power, maxx air fan). I might actually live out of it for a while in Tahoe if I get a job I have been interviewing for.

My wife and I backpack on a regular basis but aren't interested in something more akin to glamping. We do occasionally do what we call car camping where we take kids in the family and only go 100 or so yards into the woods.

I will say I would consider overlanding if my wife didn't like to backpack but for me the enjoyment is getting away from places that are accessible by vehicle.

have you considered a GFC or Super Pacific?
Good luck with the job!

Better in wet weather, keeps ground level critters away, easy to fold out and fold away... that tent is also probably more durable and substantial than your average backpacking tent too.

I bought a Geyser Systems shower. Thing is a bit pricey but cool. Uses hardly any water and the unit I bought heats the water up for hot showers using your DC/12 volt charger port.

The overlander show on Amazon Prime is pretty cool. I watched the South America season and really enjoyed it.

I looked into a Four Wheel Campers pop-up camper. Little pricier than I wanted Spend anytime soon. I checked that Super Pacific set-up. I like it. However, actually looking forward to building out my camper shell and making it as comfortable and functional as possible. Trying to be more stealth about it as well for when I take trips to different cities and boondock.

This is pretty close to what I have in mind.

Eh...I like the idea, but I can’t help buy laugh at guys on the east coast that have fuel jerry cans that are never more than 20 miles from a gas station. It’s larping. But who cares if they are having good clean fun.

I over land...but all I need is my camping stuff in the back of my 4Runner...I do enjoy riding Forest service /gravel roads, but here in NC a lot of shite is gated.

Edit: If I lived out west, I’d be all over it.

It’s camping, but it relies on using trailers or camper attachments that are attached to an off-road vehicle. You don’t stay in one place for more than a night. You’re camping along your journey which is by car.

So...what everyone else has always just called "camping."
