I hated shots and pricks when I was a kid. When I was 4 I even kicked a nurse in the stomach for trying to prick my finger.

But then I grew up because I'm not a bitch

Darth, why on earth would they have to draw blood at 3AM every day?...monitoring some medicine or what?

Monitoring both meds and all sorts of things like enzymes, INR level, any infections, you name it.

This was following my open heart surgery in November and they had to have the blood collected and tested with results ready by the time my cardeologist and surgeon came around every morning. So every morning for 30 mornings in a row they were taking blood from my arms. I looked like a junkie.

The Navy has injected so much shite into my arms that it doesn't even phase me anymore.

Injections I don't mind. It's the taking of blood and IVs in my arms and hands I hate.

For whatever reason I pass out when I have to give blood or get a big injection. I'm not scared of it but the sensation makes me dizzy. Irritating more than anything. I can get big cuts, bleed, Get hit by hornets or whatever without issue. Such is life I guess

Not going to lie, I will look away and close my eyes, but I've never passed out. It's probably the one of the last things in the world that I want to do though. If it's between immediate relief with a shot and waiting an hour for relief by taking a pill, I'm choosing the pill all day long.

honestly, that sounds like a literal nightmare to me...trying to go to sleep every night knowing that they would be waking me up a few hours later to draw blood. really seems like they were ignoring all consideration for you in order to make things a tiny bit more convenient for the doctors' schedules.

Well, considering those doctors had performed open heart surgery, saved my life twice, literally reviving me and doing a second heart surgery after I died at one point, being awoken fevery night for a few minutes is OK. Besides, they had me on a Dilaudid IV drip.

Used on work with a guy that would turn white and breakout into a sweat when he saw a needle. This was back in the day where you had to inject glue into fiber connectors with a syringe. We used to take a bunch of needles and stick them in his keyboard before he came in. Wouldn't get a lick of work done if someone didn't take them out for him

Ummmm... No.

But I do the like to see someone else being picked or prodded. Pain doesn't bother me, but the thought or sight of someone else hurting or being hurts will send chills down my spine. Even if they're just getting a shot, something I know doesn't hurt, I can't stand to watch.

It's amazing how much it hurts when they miss and have to dig around under the skin.

Especially if it is with a large bore

I have to watch the needle go in. I can't, not see what's going on.

I think it is due to being in the hospital with my eyes bandaged closed and a nurse came in a few times and gave me shots without telling me. Stupid count.
