I'm scheduled to get it done on the 23rd... They say I will be good to drive the next day. Is this true? What was your experience and recovery like?

They have a special here going... 0 down and no interest for 36 months. Figured I would take advantage. I am currently legal to drive without glasses, but I don't think I would be so lucky next time I have to renew my license.

I had awful vision. Got lasiks 7 years ago in Shreveport. Surgery was very quick, finished at 12pm.
Friend brought me home. Picked up Popeyes on the way.
Asleep for 1pm.
Woke up at 6 pm and had perfect vision.
Been that way since.

Best thing I ever did for myself.

This exact quote has been said by everyone I talked to... I'm excited.

Or do they hand you a piece of paper when you walk out the door that says repeat this line for a 10% discount

Very similar for me. I had terrible vision and almost wasn't able to have due to the thinness of my cornea. Procedure was quick. Went home and went to sleep. Woke up seeing better than I ever have. I was tested either right after surgery or the next day and was already at 20/30 in both eyes. I currently see better than 20/20 in both eyes. I love it. The only downside is the halo effect. It hits me pretty hard but it's a small issue to deal with for how good my vision is now.

Yes, I had it in 1999 from Williamson. No complaints at all. Still have great vision.

What is this "halo effect"? They mentioned it, but could you describe it somehow?

My eyes were bloodshot for a few days but other than that there was no recovery time to speak of. You will love it.

Oh but I would suggest wearing long sleeves. The room where I had it done was freezing. I assume it's laser science shite and all facilities are the same.

I had PRK, which is a different procedure, but same result. Worth every penny and easily the best money spent and decision you'll ever make. If you are an every day glasses/contacts wearer, you can't put a price tag on the improved quality of life after getting this done. Good luck and enjoy the results.

As someone who had poor vision since I was in 8th grade, it was a life changing event. I recommend it to anyone thinking about doing it. I had it done about 10 years ago and my vision is still perfect. In less than a day, I felt 100% normal with crystal clear sight.

You go home and sleep for a bit then when you wake you can see. Most folks look at and notice the alarm clock first.

Did mine 6 years ago and have 20/15 vision.

My oldest son had it done after he joined the Army and he was blind as a bat. His vision is perfect with no issues. He said it took about an hour and pretty painless as far as I know.

From a website: Halos are one of many light sensitivity and light-related side effects that are associated with LASIK. By halos, we simply mean cases in which rings appear around bright lights and light sources. Also common and related to halos are starbursts, excessive glare, and issues with low-light and night vision.

It hits me at night when driving or at a ball game under big lights. The way I understand it is your pupils are larger at night and the Lasik can't account for this so the light sort of bleeds around the cuts of Lasik. That's what causes the Halo.

ETA: This is least scientific explanation you could possibly get on the subject...

You know when you've been swimming in a chlorinated pool for too long, and you look at a light and it has a halo around it? That's pretty much it. It throws you off at night for a short time, but I adjusted to it, and mine faded out over the following couple of months.

Full disclosure- I had mine done, and about 6 months later I was still seeing 20/30 in my right eye, so the doctor went back in and did an enhancement on just that eye. I got mine 3 years ago in June, and I wish I had done it 5 years earlier. Easily some of the best money I have ever spent.

How old are you? I got it done at 25, and they warned me since I was a bit young, that the results could deteriorate over the years.

When I first got it, it was amazing like everyone has said. 11 years later, don't get me wrong, my vision is fine, I probably may not even qualify to get it again, but it's definitely not as good as it was when I first got it, I assume because of the age thing like they said but don't really know for certain.

I'd still recommend it either way, to be honest.
