Fact. ISIS has a huge network in Branson.

ok think about it this way. for 9k a year what kind of vacation could you plan? You could pretty much go anywhere in the world for a solid or probably more.

Well, the point is not to break even or make money. Are country club memberships an investment? For people who like to travel around the world, they can be helpful.

I know a few people who have sold timeshares the majority of their lives, and they are millionaires. It is one of the better rackets out there if you don't mind selling your soul to the devil. Complete scam.

How does one get into this? Do you simply buy a room in a resort? Lets work this out. Lets say a room cost $700k. I am just basing this on the number of days in a year and rounded down to 300. So if 300 people bought at $9000 then that is $2,700,000. That's $2M profit.

I own DVC. It's worth about 30% more than when I paid for it. My parents bought in 1993ish. It's worth about 3 times as much for them.

No, it's all a commissioned based sales job. You get what you sell. Not sure on the residual income, but I know they get a big chunk out of the initial cost.

nyway they want you too pay like 9k and you get too stay at their resorts around the world for like $100 a night plus discounted air flights, car rentals etc. ..
they will say the 100$ is the cleaning bill. You will walk away and they will throw 6k at you. then 5k. then the last chance offer of 2k.

i feel bad for people that go ahead and do the 9k offer because even when they offer the 2k, they are making money.

Grandparents bought one. They used it for years but when my grandfather passed, my grandmother couldn't afford the maintenance costs. She tried to cancel/sell back the timeshare.

When she told the rep she could no longer afford the maintenance costs and wanted to forfeit the timeshare, they tricked her into opening an RCI branded credit card at 28% interest that automatically paid the monthly costs.

My grandmother thought they had "taken care of it" for her when in actuality they took advantage of an 85 year old woman.

We are still helping her dispute the CC

that's comparing apples to toilette seats bud.

They sell it to you from a cost savings and convenience standpoint and they are neither.

as far as country club memberships... I play 3-4 times a week. That would cost me around 800/month in greens fees if I wasn't a member. I pay 300.

So yeah, I save money on my hobby.

The wife and I have a Time Share we purchased in Branson from Blue Green Properties. Big Cedar resorts is very nice. We have used our time share four times now and have enjoyed it. We are using it in Disney and on Carnival Cruise Line next year.

It is expensive with to pay for up front and the maintenance fee's are a pain in the arse but we will use it a lot more in future when we are retired.

Then you go to a shitty country club. And it does save money, if you take 3-5 major vacas per year (Europe, etc). I would agree they are shitty salesman.

Disney Vacation Club is the only one I've ever considered legit.

As a kid, I did telemarketing for Marriott Vacation Club, trying to get petite to stay at the resort. I thought it was legit. 4 nights at a badass resort and two universal tickets for $199 in Orlando, for a 90 minute tour. I booked a lot of people.

They switched me to Branson, and I didn't book anything. I quit a few weeks later.

But Marriott is a good one. But most are a scam. You have to buy into a good location. Otherwise, enjoy vacationing in Branson for the rest of your life.
