The Black ones are OK. But Westies, the white ones, can be a problem. Very high strung and very inbred resulting in a lot of health issues and allergies.

IIRC Westies are always white. White Scotties (different from Westies) are about 15% of Scotties.

How were they on walks? Are they good to go for a long walk around the neighborhood?

Pretty much required. They want to get out and run/exercise. I walk mine at least 30 minutes a day. He will bring me the leash in the mornings if it is past walk time.

Love Scotties, and will probably get one in the future. The allergies are no joke. Usually can be managed with a combination of special food, omega supplements, allergy shots, and or allergy pills. It’s a huge pain and can get really expensive over time.

I currently have a Boston terrier with moderate allergies, and if they get out of control, they lead to ear infections. You have to stay on top of it

At first glance, I thought this was something about a Scottish Terror.

We had a blond cairn that was a great dog. Where can I get a blond Carin puppy?

My Boston is great. Best dog I’ve ever had. The only time he ever barks is when a fox gets in the yard

We had one decades ago. Good family dog. Extremely loyal. RIP, Scottie.

Currently own one and she’s a great dog. Really sweet and fun to play with. They can be stubborn to train well. She’s stubborn in general though

I read a lot before getting one that they like to be by themselves. She’s not that way at all. Wants to meet everyone and be near someone at all times

I’ll second this

We had two when I was growing up as kid. They are well behaved and lovable. Great personalities. They can be a little on the wild side as puppies.

I had one growing up. They are smart but not easy to train. They have a mind of their own. They love to play and enjoy a variety of toys.

My sister has owned at least six over the years. Wonderful dogs. I assume you're in Louisiana, so not sure about breeders, but I'm certain there are groups on Facebook who could help steer you to someone in your area. Just know that grooming will be a regular part of your life/budget.
