I took it for a few months and didn't feel any different. I just hit the gym and stopped taking it.

Once you start those type of meds, it’s really hard to get off.

Try exercise or enjoy nature a bit and see if that helps.

My wife is a psychiatrist, she has generally good things to say about zoloft.

She convinced my bat shite crazy impossible to deal with MIL to get on it. WOW! World of difference. I dont want to slit my own neck after being with her for more than 30 seconds anymore

Got told I needed it after my dad died unexpectedly. On about Day 2, I was crawling up walls with anxiety. Didn’t eat, no appetite. Couldn’t sleep, mind was racing. After Day 6, I’d lost 11 lbs and was like a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. I got off of it. Called my Dr and told him and he said “yeah, it gets worse before it gets better.” I said “worse for how long?” He said “about 3 weeks.” I said no way. That was just my personal experience. I know other folks who didn’t have any of that stuff happen

I take it for anti anxiety and it does great in that regard. I have taken Lexapro and Wellbutrin in the past, but Zoloft so far works best for me. In addition, most of the previous mentioned medications can kill your sex drive while Zoloft doesn't.

However with Zoloft you can't really afford to skip a dosage and it's difficult to come off of.

Just depends on the individual. You might take it and you feel like you're gonna die. Or you might take it and do great. Of you don't like it look into effexor.

The first few weeks it makes you super sleepy.

Drinking is interesting. A few beers you are fine, then all of a sudden it makes you want to pass out.

They gave it to me for anxiety and it made my anxiety worse, my dick not work, and I gained 10 lbs

Got off that shite as quickly as I could

ETA:

Everyone has different reactions to these types of meds.

When I was diagnosed with Aspergers, Zoloft was recommended for the anxiety aspect, mainly due to overthinking.

This was about 10 years ago. I never got on it.

My last job became so stressful, I wasn't sleeping, eating, etc.

My doc ran several "tests" on me and once again tried to convince me. You aren't depressed, you aren't schizo, you aren't bi-polar, you are just stressed. Zoloft will help you. Please try it.

So, about a year ago I broke down and did it.

I haven't felt better in all my life. No more anxiety over anything. In fact, my "don't give a frick" meter is CONSTANTLY on. I sleep 8 hours a night, and now I also take NAPS. I could never nap before because I was always stressed.

Within a week of taking it, I completely lost that feeling in my stomach I get when I'm nervous. It has never come back. Your ability to focus and get through normal situations when you don't have that distracting you is more than I can put in words.

My wife WISHES it interrupts my libido. In fact, I find the opposite, honestly. Though my sex drive has always been through the roof.

I could go on and on, but it has worked wonders for me. I just know I take a half a pill a day.

I've also gone a couple weeks one time without it. Forgot it on a vacation and forgot to take it on a work trip. Had no problems there either.

My favorite Zoloft moment: About a month after I started taking it, this VP I worked with called me with another insane request basically telling me if I didn't fix his latest frick up, he would tell my boss. Prior to Zoloft, that scenario would have kept me up at night and I would have worked feverishly to correct his mistake.

That day? I hung up the phone, laughed, and took a nap. That night I started applying for new jobs. I left that job within a couple of weeks.

Sorry for the novel.

It will make you less sensitive in the pecker if you know what I mean. Otherwise it didn’t do much for me.

Sorry, I know how upsetting it is to lose a dad. It's crazy the crwap we humans go through just to get from day to day. All this anxiety and depression and the like. I don't know what my ancestors did to survive the winters in scandinavia but I'm glad they did.
