Hey, that's better than some random item that I get every year. I'd rather just a straight, even 20 buck Visa gift card that I can at least use for a free dinner or something useful from the store. At least you can go to Walmart and pay for half your groceries with the gift card.

I use it every year to buy new car/truck cleaning supplies, sponges, towels, shop rages, etc for the garage. Gift card is way better than the little wooden boxes with the company name/logo they used to give us that had a bag of cashews and chocolate covered nuts inside. (That ended when the lady in charge of the Christmas stuff retired).

I've always found it odd that my company does a lot of events but no Christmas party at all, very little acknowledgement of the holiday at all TBH.

I used to work for a place that required attendance at the Christmas party. I didn't really mind because watching the CEO get plastered and embarrass himself on the dance floor was worth it.

The company I work for prefers you go and they like for you to bring your spouse. If you don’t show up though no one gets butt hurt about it. It’s a nice gesture from my employer, we get great bonuses based off the profitability of the company, but they are realistic in the fact some of us have stuff to do on a Friday night. It’s in the middle of hunting season, high school playoffs, lots of vacation time is getting utilized before end of year, etc. Still the same the turnout is pretty good for a company that only employees around 100 people.

Well, we went, and it was awful. They held it in a tent outside, and it was like 18 degrees, and they only had a couple of space heaters going and when the CEO decided to give a speech, they turned them off. My wife was freezing by the time all of that was over. We waited to eat, ate a little, and left. It's was pathetic.

No. I worked for a company that went all out for the Christmas Party full open bar of top shelf liquor, champagne, beer, etc. Food was usually Prime Rib, shrimp, crab legs, leg of lamb, etc.

Everyone went and would get shitfaced. Every year there were almost fights usually over the dance floor and someone dancing with someone’s wife or girlfriend or another coworker. My boss who was the IT director literally got so mad another coworker was dancing with one of the slutty admin assistants he liked that he ran full speed and speared another coworker Goldberg style on the dance floor

Everyone would show up Monday like nothing happened

Last year I punched in to attend my Xmas party. Never heard a word about it and was paid.

OP seems to be a novice at coming up with excuses.
