Have the Neato. Worth every penny.

send it back and get a Neato
I honestly would do this. I've had them both. The Neato isn't perfect or anything. But it blows the Roomba we had out of the water.
Roomba was like a bull in a china shop. Messed up some furniture (deep marks on chair legs, messed up some brackets on coffee table), left some pet hair since it just randomly made it's way around, and left carpeted rooms looking like we had a retarded maid. I'll admit we had a lower end model, but we were just missing some programming features. At the heart of it, it cleans the same.
The neato one we have is programmable and I'd recommend that. But what sets this one apart, is that it really knows where it's cleaned and where it hasn't. If the battery dies, it makes it's way back and charges. Then it will drive right back to where it left off and start cleaning again. Doesn't just throw dirt and hair around the way the Roomba's edge brush did. It hugs the wall and gets a good clean. And it is MUCH MUCH MUCH more gentle on furniture. We have an open floor plan, and just let it go at 10 a.m. every day. Keeps the pet hair down in between visits from the maid. It will get lost every once in a while, but so did the Roomba and I find the Neato does it far less.

I have the cheaper Roomba. I think it was $300 or $400. We love it. I have 3 dogs and a cat. Im sure your $650 will be awesome.
I tried a neato twice. I sent both of them back. It was constantly fricking up and getting stuck. Roomba is better in almost every aspect. The neato seemed to cover the floor pan a bit more efficiently than my Roomba, but it would take 10x longer. I just run the Roomba twice every now and then if I'm about to have people over. It's really a non issue. I'd recommend Roomba.

I bought one yesterday too. I think it's the 86e0. It'll be in tomorrow.
My only concern is that one of my rottweilers will eat it.

I have a pet series Roomba, named him Melvin. He's awesome. Great investment. All good advice in here as well.
-clean the pan after every use
-I use an air compressor hose attachment and just blow the whole unit down too often, bc hair and dust build up inside
-def don't leave wires and chargers out when running
-also curtains and wife's clothes that touch ground in closet can get sucked up

I have a Neato, I run it after I sweep and mop and it still finds dog hair. I have to change out the bin after every use. It's pretty loud so I never use it when I am home.

pick everything up off the floor (cables, dog toys, etc) that might get caught up in it. Watch it the first few times to see if it gets stuck in any weird places. Mine will often go to the same bathroom over and over and end up shutting the door on itself cleaning behind it. I usually shut doors to room that I dont use or want it to clean (specifically the guest bathroom it always gets stuck in).
