Plenty trucks on the lots in Houston. The Ford dealership on I10 in Katy has hundreds of trucks sitting there.

Biden’s America, no more trucks... Alexandria Toyota never has any trucks on lot and wife said they told her if they do, they’re already sold

I have an 07 Tacoma with 200k miles. I bought it off ebay in Colorado for 9k in 2011 (access cab, 2x4, prerunner)
Was worth maybe $12,500 then in south but 2x4 are cheap in Colorado because no one wants them.
Anyway. I bring it in for a recall. My friend sells cars there. Knows I want a car-suv for my daughter. He offers me nearly $7,000 for this truck I bought used 10 years ago. Says they are in really high demand even the 1st generation from the 90s and early 00's. Though especially the second generation as they were the same from 05 to like 15 or so and then only got new grills and interiors.

I didn't take the deal. I like my truck.

I bought my '19 Sierra SLT about 18 months ago for around $45k. I got a letter from dealership this week offering me $44k for it with 34,000 miles. I'm seriously tempted to take them up on it. I do like the new AT4s

Just entered my Silverado LS with 175,000 miles I bought new in April of 2001 into vroom. $2,666 is not enough.

So no. Not everyone is getting big offers for their used truck.

They stopped making Tundras and F150s because of the semiconductor shortage so all inventory has increased in price.

Out of curiosity, I looked up the KBB of a spare car I’m keeping for my daughter when she gets her license soon and it’s up 40% from a year and a half ago.

so I just checked the KBB on above said truck and it's $48,000

I really liked this truck too

Vroom says my truck is worth about what I paid for it 4 years ago. Crazy. I have like 11 or 12 payments left though so not even considering selling it.

I was offered $20k to trade in a 14 Silverado in 2019. I just traded the same truck in for $25k.

Same thing is happening for homes because materials are so high to build new ones.

Car dealership lots are almost empty because manufacturing output is way down due to lack of labor and materials. Every industry is dealing with this. Result of shutdowns and Govt handing out money left and right.

Lack of production + increased demand for products due to stimulus money = inflation. Inflation was 2.7% last quarter and about to go much higher. If we don’t get things back to normal soon and get the economy back flowing we will be in a major crisis

I’m glad I just bought a truck before these prices hit. Got a 2020 GMC fully loaded x31 with 30k mikes for 42k. Got 10,500 for my 2014 z71 with 180k miles it was pretty beat up though. Put another 10k down on it

KBB has the trade in value of my truck at $35-39K. I paid $37.5 5 years ago. I might have to trade it.

Wow that pretty close to what I did a year ago in April ‘20. Traded my 2013 F150 Platinum with 200,000 miles for a 2020 Sierra 1500 SLT X31 with premium plus package. Got $10k for the F150.

Just checked mine, bought new 2016 F150 supercrew XL in 2017 for 26k. Carvana offered 26k for it. I'm about to pay it off so not really looking to trade.
