Is that why something like 80% of the Green Light Plan money has been spent in the unincorporated area?

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't this funding come from the federal government .

I'm pretty sure it comes entirely from the parish sales tax.

So basically it was spent proportionately with where the sales taxes came from?

It's in the budget. You've seen it and we've discussed it.

Then it should be easy for you to link it.

This whole "SG is paying the bills for BR" is a fantasy.

The total EBR budget for 2014 is $804 million. SG's budget as shown on the SG organizer's official website shows total revenues of $80.8 million.

So, link to where SG is paying BR's bills. Thanks.

Link to where they aren't receiving funds for the LSA from the unincorporated portion of the parish.

Isn't this the whole argument against St George? Pulling the money from br and causing to be a vast wasteland with zombie like minorities from section 8 houses raping the wives and daughters of St Georgians? I've read a few pages of this thread and that seems to be the common theme.

If the 7 CP council members who represent part or all of only unincorporated parts of the parish believe the LSA cheats those unincorporated areas, why did they not debate it in December when the budget passed unanimously? No one said a word about it, including the Mayor Pro Tem (CP council chairman) who represents an area that is almost exclusively what would become SG.

The LSA cash flows go both ways from the way I read the 2014 budget.

This is awesome news! So there is no financial impact from St George incorporating? Well, what's all the fuss about. We should just do this thing!

City of BR will regentrify and SG will become the new cheap housing sitting around the walmarts and strip malls. Everyone will want to come back to the urban center and the property values will finally start driving out the current residence. LSU and downtown will eventually win out vs strip malls.

How come whenever you get beat, you go ugly?

Let's circle back... If the unincorporated area isn't subsidizing br proper? Why all the doom and gloom? The police Union head said crime would go up everywhere due to budget cuts.

More then a few in this thread oppose incorporating for the same reason.

Why all the gloom if St George isn't putting in more than it gets out?

So br wins with SG incorporating. Woot! Awesome news, spread the word to your neighbors and get them to back the incorporation.

Not really. If that were the case, most of the road improvements would have occurred around the Mall of LA.

The annual pension costs of CP employees is just under $96 million for 2014. How much will SG take as their share of those obligations? Oh, I see.......nothing according to their laughable budget.

If the population of SG is about 25% of the parish, shouldn't SG pay 25% of the pension costs accrued by CP employees before SG incorporates?

So the SG budget just went from a surplus to a deficit.

You're the one losing here, not me.

Same here, I need the school system to stay the same. I want my brother to go to BRMHS. Catholic is expensive.

If St. George becomes a reality, their legacy costs are going to be substantial

Let's focus here.

The question on the table was about the unincorporated area ssubsidizing the city of BR. You, if I read correctly, believe that claims of the SG supporters saying they get back less than they put in are false.

If so, why does anyone care? Why are people predicting an apocalyptic wasteland? Why is the brpd Union chief threatening mass crime due to budget cuts?

Seems to me that this is all about money to the bitter-together crowd.

Sorry I can't post a link to my hypothesis.

So no portion of the taxes currently collected in the unincorporated area pay those costs? How does that work? Are we currently getting a free ride?
