How many voters have chosen not to sign the petition as of yet, perhaps based on the blatant retaliatory tactics on display by the city/parish government officials? Not all voters who have passed on the petition are against incorporation. They may well be counting on others to take that step and allow them to cast their ballots in favor if and election is called. And they may well decide to sign at a later date if it becomes apparent that the petition's success requires them to take a public stand in spite of bullying tactics by Delgado and others.
This is 100% me. I'm very much still on the fence about all of it, and I'm watching and kind of internally debating it. I am extremely disappointed by the way Delgado, Marcelle, and the like are reacting. The underhand tactics like William Daniel trying to change that agreement or trying to rezone LSU, or the reappointment of board members, etc. That is doing far more harm to BR's cause than they know.
I live in St George and haven't signed. But Delgado is pushing me harder to the pro-SG side every day. If the city fails, I'm thinking of moving to Delgado's district just to run against him.

Do you think Bodi White and Lionel Rainey aren't trying to "keep that money flowing" for themselves?
This is a reflexive, "I'm rubber and you're glue," argument on your part.
I trust the folks backing that effort far more than I trust the likes of Delgado, brah.

Whats the big deal in giving a performer a tax paid key to the city if they are able to bring in more entertainment revenue into the city? I would guess the money BR made that night was a good bit more than what a key cost.

With this, I have no problem at all. R. Kelly is a pedophile and a sick sick person. That's where my problem with it is. I don't want a dime spent "honoring" someone like that, much less of taxpayers dollars. But he's a celebrity so we should all bow down and go with it.

I wouldn't bow down in front of R Kelly.

Agreed that bitching about $250 for a key to a celebrity is ridiculous, I'm sure the city wastes much more than that every day. But really? It has to go to a pos like this? And people are actually DEFENDING the decision?

The mayor has never taken the time out of his busy schedule to talk to me, not on this matter nor any of my other concerns through the years.

It's a $100 piece of metal that was given to an entertainer. It was the highlight of this lady's decade, and R Kelly likely tossed it in a trash can before he left town. Of all the real shite we have to worry about in our lives, how can anybody possibly care about this??
