My mom placed everything in my name but I can’t legally do anything with it as long as she is alive and of sound body and mind.
We did it so if she or my dad have to go into a nursing home they can’t force her to sell off her property and pay for her care instead of the state/feds.
I have 3 kids so I’ll have a will that says which kid gets what property and other inheritances.
I’ve seen to many families fight and split up over inheritances and property.

My mom was a notary in Louisiana and is now one in Texas. It’s not the same at all. In Louisiana, there are quite a lot of privileges afforded to notaries so the certification process involves knowledge and testing across a great field of knowledge. In Texas, you become a notary by meeting certain basic legal standards and paying a fee for your seal. Almost anyone can become a notary in Texas but they don’t have near the privileges a Louisiana notary does.

In LA, it's a massive amount of material and 2 part test. She probably put 500 hours of studying into becoming a notary and the books looked like 2 Bibles.
However, there are still a lot of notaries around from the old days when commissions were handed out like candy. These notaries commissioned during the old regime range from very competent to total morons who frick up everything.

It’s been longer than several years.

Mom is trying to now evict her child and grandchildren, so she can sell the houses.
I guess this is why he made Mark Milano the trust of his will... She sounds like a crazy bitch...
I know they donated huge chunks of money to Rummel...

O.K. 10-15 years. The point is that there are plenty of notaries still around who didn't take that test and some of them are totally incompetent.

I have no idea how those wills got thrown out.
La. law requires statutory testaments to contain a specific clause showing who was there when the will was signed or "a substantially similar clause." The supreme court has decided that "substantially similar" means "exactly as written in the statute with no deviation." His most recent wills deviated slightly.

It has, I know another girl that was studying for the test in 2007-08 and failed it 4 times and gave up.
Funny twist, she eventually went to Southern Law and is now a Bar certified attorney.
Obviously, she devoted a hell of a lot more time, effort, and energy to becoming an attorney so I'm NOT saying that it's easier to become an attorney than an LA certified Notary, I'm just stating how the events all played out.

Still doesn't make sense, but carry on.

I think he means that because Ray Brandt's wife is a crazy bitch, Brandt named Mark Milano as executor of his estate and/or trustee of the trust(s) that he created.

I’m sure there are. My mom took the test well before Katrina, though. I just wasn’t sure what you meant by several years.

My mother was a paralegal for a group of attorneys for 25 years before taking the test. It wasn’t easy for someone with no legal background at all.

I am told the notary was an attorney at an old line white shoe NOLA firm.

I've never inherited shite. I don't ever plan on inheriting shite. If I do get something, great. If not, no big deal. I will never go to court to challenge anyone on something I thought I deserved to inherit. Just not worth the trouble.

Well, that makes it interesting again.

If this is true it sounds like someone’s E&O policy is about to have a $300MM claim against it.

What a greedy bitch.
