Quarterly. If everyone had to file quarterly taxes, there would be the biggest tax revolt ever seen in this country.

I wish I could pay quarterly. I get a decent amount withhold at the bonus flat rate and do the best I can to lower AGI. Dumbasses that don't know how to save screw the rest of us

I recall reading someone's post on this site (but probably Money or Politics board) that made it sound like some people would be in a for an unfavorable surprise when filing their 2018 taxes.

Basically, the tax reform resulted in an immediate adjustment to the amount withheld from each paycheck (which people loved). However, that may end up making 'some' people end up owing rather than getting a refund.

I'm curious how mine will shake out. I haven't had any major changes in recent years so ordinarily I would expect to get the same refund (not huge since I try to avoid fronting the gov't my cash), however also not sure if the tax reform 'new withholding tables' were created with the same background assumptions that the pre tax reform tables were created (for my particular situation).

Hopefully there will not be as significant of an effect as some people were predicting about a year ago.

People making about 150k to 250k are the ones getting the shaft on tax reform. People making less than 100k should benefit almost 100% of the time

So employers adjusted, but not the IRS?

Filed Friday.

I paid a good chunk less in taxes and made more money in 2018 and actually got a little more back than last year.

Anybody who says the tax cut didn’t help them and only goes to the “1%” is lying or works at McDonald’s.
