But, seriously, no - almost did one time when it popped off, but I caught it just in time. Heck, it was re-affixed and I'm chawing with it many years later.

I recently had a patient swallow a 5 unit bridge. She called in and I asked if she had it and she said not yet.
She came in 5 days later and after cleaning it, we re cemented the bridge.
I guess her constitution is a bit pokey.

Actually swallowed one about 3 weeks ago exactly the same way as you (root canal thank goodness). Went in and they did the mold and sent it off. Went last week and put the new one in.
Going back tomorrow as now I am having a constant dull pain on the other side from doing all of my chewing over there for 2 weeks. FML

You can go to urgent care and have a chest X-ray done cheap and they will be able to see if its passing through if you don't want to wait to pass it. If it is the same dentist that placed it they probably we charge you full price for a new one. You might can get away with a little more than their lab cost. Or they might stick it to you so get to straining!

It's the same dentist and they did give me a discount at cost.
So that is the bright side.

Even if you decide not to put it back in your mouth, you still need to make sure you pass it. Crowns have metal in them.

Didn't swallow. My crown came off while eating a gummy worm and on next chew I crushed down on the crown and cracked another tooth. Dentists really suck. I don't trust em.

I wouldn't wait it out. That lost crown could get caught up in the colonic plaque which builds up like spackling in the folds of your intestines. You could be carrying around 20 lbs. of spackling.
