It could just be an anal fissure. Probably nothing unless it's happening on a regular basis.

It's probably just hemorrhoids....go see a Colon & Rectal Surgeon and let them take a look inside your butthole

If you’re over 30 go get checked.

colonoscopies are completely painless and there’s no excuse not to get one and get yourself checked out.

Here's the problem with our healthcare costs... $2500 in testing to avoid drinking water and eating fiber. Just to be safe, of course. How long have you been a woman?

Maybe it’s just me, but if I had blood in my stool I would head immediately to my doctor.
I’d probably at least wipe my arse first.

Actually probably also take a shower, dress, then go.

Ehh if it’s internal you may not. I’ve got one and only sign is blood, I never feel it. Got scoped and doctor confirmed it

My mom just went through this. It is most likely diverticulitis, it corrected itself and they told her to stay away from certain foods. She was in the hospital for 3 days and they did a colonoscopy to rule out anything else. If you continue to have a lot of blood I would definitely see a doctor, she needed half a pint of blood in the hospital.

Hemorrhoids are most common reason for bright red blood when you wipe, and they cause discomfort and itching around the bunghole.

Fissures produce more bright red blood than the former and hurt like a razor when you shite.

If its dark blood then you got problems.

Tucks Hemorrhoid pads are solid for treating discomfort and itching.

Had this happen in my 20s. There’s a family history of hemorrhoids. Doctor had me do a colonoscopy to be safe. Was hemorrhoids. Glad he made me check though just for peace of mind.

I did a few times in my 20s (this was 30 years ago). Mine were fissures. Doc told me to not sit on the terlet so long and use the wet wipes.

While this is probably true, go see a doctor and get a colonoscopy. I got one when I was 38. I was having some stomach issues, so we went ahead and got it done.
Since then I've had ultrasounds, a CT scan, and a bone marrow biopsy, based on irregularities in my blood work. They weren't all completely necessary, but the piece of mind from going above and beyond is nice.

It's more concerning if it was black and pasty. Bright red is usually a sign of hemorrhoids or a GI issue such as ulcertative collitis or chohn's disease, as opposed to cancel.

As others have suggested, go see a gastroenterologist and let him scope you to make sure you get it properly diagnosed and treated.

I have hemorrhoids on and off. Bright bleeding temporarily then nothing for a long time. Got borescoped a couple years ago and there wasn’t anything. Technically I don’t have to go back for a long time.
