Anyone ever feel "paralyzed", for lack of a better word, when they wake up?

Every few months I'll wake up in the night and I can't move my body for 20-30 seconds. My eyes are open and I'm conscious, but I can't move my body at all or even talk. It only lasts a short time, but it's scary while it's happening.
Just curious if I'm alone on this or if it happens to other people.
ETA: I didn't realize this was a common topic on here. Sorry for starting another thread.

Happens to my wife. Sleep paralysis. Not really a huge issue. Scary, just not a big deal.

Sleep paralysis, I've had it happen a few times waking up from naps.

Called sleep paralysis. yes, it's very scary when you're not used to it.

Ok. My bad, hadn't seen any.
Was just curious if it was somewhat common.

It's a well known medical condition. Someone on here will know it.
I've woken up "wild" a few times. Mind racing, didn't recognize my bedroom, felt like I had a rush of adreneline, very basic instinct. It's really odd.

its the worst. First time it happened to me it fricked with my head for weeks. I thought it was the most real nightmare ever. Turns out it was real

Yeah, I freaked out the first time. A couple of nights ago was the first time I tried to yell out while it was happening and I couldn't. Just made a low groan. shite sucks.
