Anyone else woken up by the BRPD helicopter tonight?

Must be something around Corporate and Jefferson. It's been flying for the past hour.
Be great if there was an online feed telling what's happening so you'd have something to look at after it wakes you up.

Body heat is much warmer than surrounding temps so it shows up easy on a thermal

Those flir cameras turrets are impressive. I maintain the Jefferson Parish sheriff's office helo and it has one. It has a nitrogen cooled seeker head and its impressive how sensitive it is. I've seen film of a person of interest trying to hide next to some running air conditioning compressors and while its not a bad hiding spot he got caught with help of the k9

I don't live in baton rouge, but in BR area. Anyway, behind my house there is a lot of land. Cane fields in the area, land that was sold a few years ago that a neighborhood currently being built, soybean fields so its not uncommon for a helicopter to fly around.
From time to time there are people taking aerial pictures. There is a wooded area in which they found marijuana growing several times, so they will fly around that area to check it out once or twice a year. Every once in awhile there will be a flock of military helicopters that pass over, flying low (they are the loudest), but if I am inside its not THAT loud.
It could be anything. It might be something they don't really want people knowing.. Stop being nosey..

I was mainly curious what was happening. Saw quite a few BRPD cars in the distance. Many times when the helicopter is that low and circling someone is running on foot.
