Do I want kids who statistically cause more trouble bussed across the city to help destroy a school that would likely be better without bussing? Damn skippy.
Do I want to keep capable, dedicated students who pose no disciplinary problems out of programs that could help them? Not at all. Let them apply for positions by merit.
But bussing a bunch of ne'er-do-wells for multiple hours in the name of "diversity" helps NO ONE.
So you are passionately supporting a school district that will bus Gardere kids to Woodlawn. ok

That area if schools is outstanding. My in laws used to live there.
You'd get laughed out of the room if you told parents in Katy they'd start bussing their kids to HISD. Hell you'd get laughed at if you said they would bus them to the Woodlands.
Neighborhood schools are great. My son develops friendship with people in the area. I can easily go see my kid at school since my office is also by my house. If he was bussed 30 minutes away that wouldn't happen. Also if I had multiple kids they'd all obviously be in the same general area and not all over the fricking city.
Besides the retarded want to go back the the 1950s nonsense I'd like to know what other arguments favor the silliness in Baton Rouge. Guess the race card trumps all.

What other board am I supposedly "trolling"?

It's not. Are you just making up random stuff to say now?

The entire opposition to st george is hinged on racism. They have nothing else.
I also like how the together people state that if st George happens the BR will crumble. Then do something about your own city. Quit relying on outlying areas to prop up your failures and do what st George is doing and take charge

What kids in the "St. George" area are getting forced to do that? You're just making stuff up.

Can you watch this online..
Also frontline does a podcast I think it's of their show. Anyone ever listened to one of their shows via a podcast.
I have the stitcher app and podcast and have listened to frontline (last one about the catholic priesthood rapes) but not sure if those podcast are Independent or are they just the audio out together from the actual tv show?
Am I making any sense what so ever?
It's past my bedtime

Louisiana needs to get with the rest of the country and embrace independent school districts. The financial burden of private school tuition is holding that area back and fueling uncontrolled sprawl into neighborhood parishes.

I don't give a shite that yall are racist. Just be like lsut2005 and admit it. I don't agree with him, but he is the most honest person in this thread. I would support the separatist effort if they would admit it what their movement is about. Everyone knows that in Baton Rouge, a white school is considered a "good school". Quit pitching this as some God-Chosen Tea Party constitutional rights bullshite. I just think you will be unhappy with your results if you win(which i think you will in a December election)

It's not just the together people saying that. It was an independent university economic study. The budget would crumble because "St. George" wants to claim all the sales tax from businesses that the entire parish supports. You really think it's only middle class white folks shopping at the Siegen Wal Mart? Those are everyones sales tax dollars.
But I don't expect the "St. George" movement to actually consider the mathematics of the situation. They can't even admit that their signature movement has slowed down. They can't even admit that they only have enough school spots for a fraction of the number of students that would be in their district, and that they'd have to raise taxes like crazy just to build enough buildings to hold them all. The economies of both Baton Rouge and the unincorporated area would be destroyed by this. Sure, the leadership of the St. George movement would probably get some new no bid government contracts out of the deal, but they're the only ones that would benefit.

Why are the "white schools" "better"?
Answer that question and you'll start to get to the root of the problem. And don't try to paint it with a broad racial brush. Black families are just as capable of teaching their children to strive for quality education and taking charge of their own lot in life.

People keep talking about neighborhood schools as if desegregation still exists. Desegregation is why Central formed a new school district. They were busing a lot of students in from North Baton Rouge that should have been going to Glen Oaks, Scottlandville, or Capitol High Schools.
Desegregation ended in 2012 and thus they don't have to bus students all over anymore.
Aside from magnet students, which students are still getting bused to schools that are not local to them?
