When local authorities abdicate their duty/responsibility/obligation to protect the life, liberty and livelihood of their citizens, then something is going to fill that void...
To answer the OP's question: Yes it is deeply disturbing that the lack of leadership and responsibility by local authorities to respond appropriately to violent and destruction actions by groups of people in their community would create the circumstances in which the Federal Government would be required to do what the local authorities would not..

I have family IN Portland who went to this area of "mass unrest" Sunday afternoon to check things out. Graffiti and some boarded up windows in a 4 square block area. During daylight there were families out going for walks and businesses open. This administration and right wing news are making all of this out to be worse than it is so that fricking pawns like yourself will support illegal federal deployment of DHS "troops" to handle domestic issues.

Clearly you have reading comprehension issues. The Feds are involved in Portland to protect federal property. Property that HAS been vandalized and targeted. This could literally be half a block. The square footage and magnitude of the unrest is entirely irrelevant.
Also, what is happening during the day when the criminals finally go to bed is also irrelevant.
You can’t be this stupid, right?

40 USC 1315.
quote:
To the extent provided for by transfers made pursuant to the Homeland Security Act of 2002, the Secretary of Homeland Security (in this section referred to as the “Secretary”) shall protect the buildings, grounds, and property that are owned, occupied, or secured by the Federal Government (including any agency, instrumentality, or wholly owned or mixed-ownership corporation thereof) and the persons on the property.
There is literally a law mandating (shall protect) federal action here.

I'm pretty sure it's impossible to alter videos and photos. Ditto the takeover of Seattle streets by the same thugs you are shielding. The increased potency of year gas and bringing the hammer down on those committing crimes is long overdue.
Just look at Chicago. Weeks after fighting against federal intervention the liberal mayor finally has enough and invited federal law enforcement to come help get this under control. It's too bad their fatass governor is trying to block it like the incompetent government officials on the west coast.

Call them and see if they want to go down there once the sun goes down. Maybe hang around until midnight and they will get a free fireworks show courtesy of the imaginary ANTIFA mob throwing fireworks at the "secret police".

Awesome. Have them take that walk after dark and get back to us, Anderson Cooper. There's a reason why 90% of the video evidence takes place at night. Even the vermin has to sleep, at some point.

Not to mention for years they’ve been calling anyone who disagrees with them even slightly Nazis, evil, hoping we and our families are killed, just absolute vileness...
And now they want our support?
That dog don’t hunt. The time for coming together is done.
The progs made decent folk the enemy. Now I’m not going so far as to say the enemy of my enemy (the feds) is my friend, but I won’t shed a tear if these little upjumped Antifa punks get a taste of Big government they claim to want.
And you know that if they had power and their little jackbooted thugs were abducting people (*cough* roger stone *cough*) they would be applauding it.

Look at this man of peace just trying to bring peace upon these agents. I can't believe they rejected the peaceful blows of peace from his Peace Hammer Of Peace.
Hope he tasted the concrete he deserved.

Now, you know it would be their fault if they were out after dark. What right do they have to go for a late night stroll? What right do they have to expect a business to open after dark?
The guy literally said "some boarded up windows, that's it" like it wasn't a big fricking deal that someone's livelihood is sitting boarded up and the damn mayor is allowing it to happen.
Local police in multiple cities have suggested to business owners that they, "Close early and board up if they don't want damage to occur." What the hell good are they? Businesses are fighting just to survive during corona, and now they have to deal with neutered police and petulant children throwing endless temper tantrums.
