Spotty since Sunday evening. Stabilized yesterday and then back out around 2:30 this morning.

Not for me. With very few exceptions, mine has been pretty bulletproof.

Keep an eye on whether it starts to loosely coincide with rain. Fiber either works or it doesn’t; copper coax is highly prone to interference, particularly if the insulated coating has worn down/has been damaged. When it rains enough to saturate the ground, water will start to seep past the coating and make contact with the copper wire. Annoyance ensues. And it’s damned near impossible to reliably diagnose.

Had a door to door salesman knock on my door several months ago soliciting fiber. It’s the one time I’ve ever appreciated that happening to me.

$30 a month cheaper to have the same speed internet and less issues. (Knock on wood of course).

Except your upload speed is the same as download with fiber not like Cox coax which is considerably slower..

For the 2 years I lived in my house in BR, I was completely screwed over by Cox. I paid for the highest bandwidth plan (over 1 gig speed) and could never manage to get more than 80 megs out of it. My kids couldn’t even play Roblox it was so slow. Cox sent technicians about 8 different times after I’d call and complain. Finally got to the point where they said that I was just going to have to deal with the spotty internet service so I said bye and got AT&T. I pay $150 less per month and have all the speed I’d ever need. Switch and you won’t regret it

Switched to REV. 3x as fast, half the cost, and zero drops. Love it.

People sometimes put signal boosters on their cable internet and it can back feed the system and screw up other houses. One jackass was doing that in our neighborhood.

Yes. Not a complete loss of service, but very slow speeds. Is this what you are experiencing?

If your Cox is out for more than 4 hours, it is time to consult a doctor.

In Central, junkies keep cutting and stealing the cable. Wonder if that's the same problem in BR.

frick cox. They are up there with entergy in the "scumbag companies" category.

ETA: I signed up for AT&T at the kiosk in costco. It was seamless, cheaper, better service, and I got a $150 rebate gift card to costco.

I am only here to say Cox is terrible. We are in the last stage of having ATT fiber installed in our neighborhood and I cannot wait to drop them.

Yep. There really wasn't a single reason I could think of to keep Cox.

And then when I called Cox to cancel after Fiber installation, they offered me a price lock and discounted rate. Aka they were begging me to not cancel.
I said, "I spoke to a rep 3 months ago when my internet was out for 6 days and you couldn't get anyone out here. They also stated that I wasn't eligible for a price lock guarantee after my rate went up $8 for the 2nd straight year."

Edit: This is with T-mobile (only carrier offered in my area). Same speed. $30 a month cheaper. First month was free. They are sending me a $100 gift card after 3 months of being on auto-pay which I should be getting soon. Price locked for 5 years. I told Cox to compete with that and they said best they could do was lock my current rate.
To hell with them.
