Might be your pillows. For me, I need firm pillows. Hotels usually have soft ones.

If I don’t bring my own pillows, I toss and turn all night.

Any hotel that doesn’t let you adjust the thermostat is a nightmare.

The Embassy Suites in Destin is one of those.

Room was humid as frick this past weekend and we had to request a dehumidifier from the front desk.

Take your pillow from home with you when you travel. It helps a lot.

I sleep horribly in hotels. Weed and/or Xanax help.

Ever since I had case of bed bugs years ago, at a hotel in Florida, I had trouble sleeping through the night. I obsess over the cleanliness.

Every time. I think it’s the change in your routine, what you did that day, ate and/or drank, coupled with a schedule with things like meetings and flights that cause extra stress. Couple that with a change in sleeping conditions like temperature, noise, pillow and sheet/blanket thickness and it all adds up as a recipe for disaster.

That's 6 hours of sleep if I'm doing the math right. What's wrong with that?

Always

It’s a combination of not being with my family, disliking hotel pillows and bedding, the odd noisy neighbor, and new city noises.

For what it’s worth, medical THC or just some melatonin and magnesium can go a long way.

I used to sleep like a baby in hotels. Then one day I just thought about all of the people that slept in the same bed, wondering how I could be absolutely sure the staff changed the sheets. I've never been the same since. I'll only sleep with the top sheet on me, can't even touch the comforter, and usually people in nearby rooms keep me up.

I hate hotels now. I love the continental breakfast, though.

I sleep fine as long as I have some ambient noise, so I use an app for that.

The only issue is if the AC unit is really noisy. Then I wake up every time it goes on and when it goes off. I’ve had that annoy the crap out of me.

The noise tends to keep me awake. Mostly traffic sounds from outside.

I usually have some issue that prevents good sleep. AC doesn't get cold enough, pillow isn't right, blanket is too warm.

1. Bring your own pillow.

2. When you book, make sure it’s a hotel that has centralized heat and air, with in-room controls, not one of those window/wall units. They are harder to find these days.

I love sleeping in hotels provided they can keep it quiet outside my room.

It's usually very easy to make a room dark and I like pitch black when I sleep. Once I stayed at a place that had lights at ankle-level that only turned on when I was walking around.

Much as I love my dog he fidgits and walks around at night, so no dog in the hotel.

The room is also very secure. There are locked hotel doors, front desk people, a key card, deadbolt, and safety chain on my door, and the door is 25' from me so if anybody comes through it, I'll know about it. Nobody is sneaking around my place while I'm asleep.

Same here. Hotel sleep is crap. I'll take a hotel over an AirBnb or someone's home any day. I just can't do other people's homes. Freaks me out.

I got a weighted blanket last year and it’s been a blessing and a curse. It’s 15 pounds and now I can’t sleep without it. That really sucks when you travel. I’ve now had to stuff it into my work backpack because I do a carry-on.

Pretty sure I will have back issues lol but it gets the job done.
