Seaweed. The lake I swam at as a kid had a diving raft, and there were spots around it that were clear but other spots were a forest of nastiness. I think I had a fear of diving in and getting tangled up in it.

It still gives me the heebie jeebies any time I'm swimming in a natural body of water and happen to brush past some.

It is hard to have sex with a bear trap no matter who you are, but a well seasoned roll top desk, that is my jam.

That’s not irrational

Here’s irrational.

Ships. I don’t like big gigantic boats in the water. Growing up, I spent a lot of time in the water and the thought of being sucked under by just passing a ship in the water freaks me out. Never been on a cruise

Crapping myself in public. Or having to take a dump while being stuck in traffic or in an elevator, etc.

I struggled here... I mentioned falling into a water moccasin bed.

Snakes are rational. Falling into a bed of snakes in a lake would be irrational right? What's the odds of that. Also I don't even know much about it.

I have the opposite. I am irrationally not fearful of anything. I foolishly believe I am more likely to survive anything. I think it's more commonly called a survivors fallacy. I think it comes from making the kind of decisions that should earn me a Darwin Award, yet that final lesson has never come.

Wouldn't fear of snakes, bridges, tall buildings and cataclysmic weather events all be considered rational fears? Now if you refuse to grill outdoors because you think the burger badger is gonna stab you with a meat thermometer and steal your lunch, that might be irrational.
