I miss my elderly neighbor. He would work in his yard almost every day. He'd monitor anyone working in my yard or on my house. He ran off a pair of theives who'd backed a moving truck into my driveway. He was awesome.

I am the retired neighbor that mows his grass too much. .... With any luck you will be like us some day. It won't bother me because I'll be dead.

I have 3 around me that have spectacular grass. Always out working in the yard. When I was growing up I had an old black guy that was my neighbor. On Mondays and Thursdays he cut his grass. On Tuesday he washed his wife's car, on Wednesday he washed his car. He must have painted his driveway 3 times a year. He would also run about 5 miles a day and drink half a 5th of scotch a day.

Anyone who is cutting grass after retirement is either psychologically flawed or they didn't plan correctly. But in defense of the neighbor, being retired means being able to do whatever the frick you want, so …

My neighbor does...he was falsely accused of raping a women who was plastered about 12 years ago...

Served 2 years time....on probation today...registered sex offender...

Married with 2 kids...

He mows because if he doesn't he might go insane. ..

Struggle is real ...

His wife does well financially. ..it ain't all bad, but he'd rather have a clear name and be working

I mow twice a week during July and August when the lawn really takes off. Yes, I am retired but mowing on a rider or lawn tractor is not real work. Therefore, I cut mine and will also cut some others' yards if they need help. I love my neighborhood and I am lucky to have great neighbors.

These retired people in my parents' neighborhood are out every single day cleaning all vehicles and property they own, cutting grass, manicuring garden...seems like a miserable existence.

Mine mows his twice a week, but it's the same two days a week, weather permitting.

He does a lot of other activities, and I've run into him in restaurants and at the movies, so he doesn't seem too bored.

I know how you feel. My neighbors have their gardeners over every 3 days, and I only have mine over once a week, on the same schedule as the golf course maintainance crew, fricking oppressors.

this guy doesn't have shite to do and mows every three days.

Yep.....and he is retired from being a Landscape Maintenance foreman, so he has all the commercial power tools. The worst is that jet turbine blower. And he will be out mowing at 10pm in the dark sometimes.....
