Anyone else had a terrible experience with LA Fitness personal training?

Specifically their Seigen lane location in Baton Rouge.

I feel like my wife and I were intentionally lied to by misrepresenting the services offered and quality of the training.

After that when we tried to cancel they told us we had to pay 1/2 of the remaining balance to get out of the training. Once we agreed to do that (after several promises that it would be taken care of) they continued to charge our card the full amount.

Anyone else dealt with this from LA Fitness?

If you need a personal trainer, you have bigger problems.

It was for my wife. Sorry she hasn't seen Arnold's videos in the last year so she needs someone to give her new exercises.

LA Fitness is one of the worst gyms to deal with. Too much corporate BS when dealing with a big box like that. I've always had much more luck dealing with your smaller operations (Snap/Anytime Fitness). Good luck moving forward. Best suggestion I have is to just be a giant pain in their arse. Make them get so sick of you they give in to all your demands.

Did you do your research on them and their trainers? Or did you just go with them blindly?

We signed up for the gym because it was close to the house

Wife got sold on trainers and wanted to sign up so I said ok after I went over everything with the head of training. The gym had only been open a short time so I couldn't do too much research. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because of their size. It is easily the worst run organization I have been a part of.

All of the managers, program heads, and operations people are just people who couldn't get actual career jobs so their are playing dress up at LA Fitness.

Facilities are great but the incompetent staff makes it unbearable.

Like all fitness trainers, they ask you what you what you are currently doing or previously did in the gym, and put you something totally opposite to make you feel like you have never worked out.

The program wasn't as bad as the lack of availability of the trainers

I had one hell of a time trying to get my membership canceled when I moved. This was from a Houston branch.

La fitness just plain sucks

It was easy for me..

Pay first/last month on signup with zero contract and you only had to give 30 days notice when canceling.

$39.95/mo.

A guy I work with is pretty heavy into weight training and has done so for years. I joined because it's close to the office and our insurance runs specials. I went in for the free consulatation and the trainer liked to have killed me. My coworker was there and witnessed what the guy had me doing and was shocked. Needless to say I didn't buy the training package.

Those male trainers are creepers there, too. Always chatting up ladies in the middle of their workouts.

The shitty ones that work in big gyms, yeah. The ones that actually made a career out of it, no
