sorry for being a dick. Wasn't really trying to be, but i did write that in the middle of the night while feeding my infant so I wasn't in the best mood.
I was simply stating that it was an easy google search away. steady state cardio like jogging is not very efficient at burning fat instead of muscle.

Carbs on workout days should come in the first meal since you workout in the morning or if you eat in the morning they should come right after the workout, atleast as many as you can handle. The non workout days should be carb free, higher fat. Protein stays really high no matter what.
This is a TKD.

yea lean gains is a tkd with intermittent fasting along with carb backload. This is all on top of running larger deficits on non workout days. Its the beauty of the LG.

Dang, how did I miss this thread?
Thine, you and I could have a crazy long discussion on keto. Dom D’Agostino and Peter Attia are heros of mine. Your post history would be exactly like mine if I paid attention more. Got an email? I’d love to share some information with you.
And to everyone here, you don’t need carbs, you don’t even need carbs to be optimal in your labs nor to be fit. They are not an essential nutrient for the body. Anything else is bro-science and I’m sorry to bust your bro party (downvotes commence).

What are some good breakfast options fellas? Straight up bacon and eggs? Greek Yogurt but the non-sugarized kind?
I've been pretty peaked eating "clean" and not getting where I want to be. I'm going to cut out brown rice and anything whole wheat. Also will limit my fruits until I drop to where I want to be.
Any other suggestions? I'm also kinda worried I'm over training, I do 4-5 days on the weights/abs during the week and 1 solid day of cardio on the weekends which is either soccer, basketball or a long road bike ride. Always make sure to get one solid rest day in.
I think a big problem is the 1-2 nights of legit binge drinking. That has to be crushing a lot of my progress. Being mid 20s and single though, that's a really hard one to cut out. Lot of my friends can get away with it and nothing happens but I just don't have that kind of natural metabolism.
Great info here though, appreciate everyone's insight.

It's my experience that alcohol pauses weight loss until your body uses it up for fuel and is free of it for a few days.
Could be my imagination but it's like Wednesday before my system is back to responding properly to diet & exercise after a rowdy weekend.

Def. agree with this. I'm certain it isn't helping but it seems like as much as I workout/eat clean, it wouldn't hinder results THAT much.
I've gotten a lot stronger, just not getting the appearance I was able to get back in my early 20s after training this hard.

I eat alot of bacon and eggs every single morning. You could do bacon, eggs in butter, sliced avocados, beans, and grilled onions as a scramble with a piece of fruit on the side. I always eat a very large breakfast and it holds me over throughout much of the day. I usually eat again around 2pm. Im not saying timing your eating is relevant at all. It doesnt matter when you consume anything (unless you are intermittent fasting).

Try cutting your drinking in half. What is binge drinking to you? To me, it's anything more than a 6 pack. If you limit yourself to a six pack you'll feel alot better the next morning and you'll more than likely recover faster. It just takes discipline to not go overboard. Drink a bottle of water after every two beers. That'll rehydrate you slightly, make you feel fuller and will lessen the time you actually have to drink.

Straight up. I'm usually very busy very early in the morning. I go ahead and line a cupcake pan with bacon and pour scrambled eggs in each cup to bake it. It's freaking easy and fantastic. I eat them cold at work, but you can warm them up.

What are your goals?

You think?
Set you goals and work for them before looking for a magic bullet. If you are slamming 6000 kcals of booze twice a week don't come in here talking about how clean you are eating.

Because you eat and drink too much.

Even if you are keto and fat adapted, your body will burn calories from alcohol before anything else. It doesn't knock you out of ketosis, but it fricks you up none the less. You can't drink a day's worth of calories and wonder why you aren't losing weight. Keto, like any diet, only works for weight loss if you are in a deficit. It isn't magic.

I have plenty of friends that have worse diets, drink more frequently and exercise less. That was the point.
No need for harsh, sarcastic words, was simply discussing and being honest with my current habits. I know they're not the best which is why I'm here asking questions.
I'm sure the lack of rest also has an extremely negative effect from drinking. I've been reading a lot of stuff about how drunk sleep isn't the same because your REM cycles are all messed up. Any truth to that?

I am an alcoholic. I can tell you without a shred of doubt that passing out and good sleep are two very different things. When I was drinking I would "fall asleep" but be wide awake hours later. This is due to your body suffering alcohol withdrawals (which is all a hangover is). When you drink you fall asleep heavily for a few hours then toss and turn and sweat for the other 5.
