Anyone Dealt with herniated discs in the neck?

A disclaimer, I’m a veteran at back and neck surgery. C5/6 was fused in 2019, doc said c6/7 could be on deck at some point. Well, here we are.
Nasty nerve pain down the right of my spine, especially by turning my neck to the right, spasms in triceps and, according to PT, grip strength unequal.
What I’ve done: started PT last week, massage therapy, neurosurgery got me in next week, going to try to get into pain management for a steroid injection.
I’m 52, and my spine apparently is a soup sandwich. In addition to my neck fusion, I had l5/s1 fused two years ago.
Any repeat offenders of neck surgery out there? I’m going to try everything else first, but if my arm strength goes, it’s back to the OR.

Have C5, C6, C7 disc protrusions that are affecting nerves in my arms and hands. Been going to PT for the past month and have had great success. The biggest thing I've noticed is posture related- have had to adjust the mirror in my truck higher after nearly every visit. It's a long slow process but would definitely try to do everything besides surgery. How often are you going to PT? Are you doing the exercises at home when you're not there? Nerve tingling in the arms is slowly going away as well

Just started. I have two sessions per week.
Part of my issue is crappy posture. I’ve caught myself a ton hunched over my laptop when I’m working from home.
Given my history, I should have known better, however I went a couple years minus any flare ups and fell prey to normalcy bias I guess

Same here. Years of spending time leaned over a computer did a number. See if they have traction at PT where they release some of the pressure on your spine. That's helped me a bunch. Also getting some massages to help get rid of the knots in your traps/shoulders
At PT today they recommended trying CALM, it's a calcium magnesium supplement that is supposed to be a natural muscle relaxer. Just got some at the grocery store on my way home

PT here:
If you aren’t doing cervical retractions (making double chin almost, don’t look down or up during it) already, start those if they do not cause pain. 2sets/10x is good to start, tell patients when they start having pain do as many until pain goes away too.
Mckenzie method is a great thing to learn. Retractions may not be your pain relieving movement, but normally protrusions are posterior and this helps with the fluid movement. Strengthen your upper back, neck, and set a timer every 30 minutes as a posture check.

I had a cervical discectomy. The surgeon fused my C5-6 and C6-7 vertebrae with cadaver bone. He told me that he didn't know where the bone came from but for the first time in my life I could dance, play basketball, and my dick grew three inches.

I did PT for a bulging disc in 2012.
Haven’t had to do anything related to it in years, and very rarely have slight symptoms now. No arm or shoulder pain or tingling since prob 2013.

I've had the ACDF surgery on C5/6.
Actively pay attention to your posture especially sitting.

I’d concentrate on PT, get injections if that fails and have surgery if it is affecting your normal activities and everything else has failed. Good news is that most cervical fusion surgeries do very well, even for repeat surgeries on additional levels.

Been dealing with it for about 4 years now. Hit me all of a sudden one night after I had been working in the yard. Haven't been the same since. Neck is always tight and have discomfort. Been to several doctors and had injections. I had stopped injections for the past year or so. Just restarted with a new doctor that told me at my age (54) the longer you can put off surgery the better. I've got bulding in c4/5/6. The part that really bothers me is the middle of my back starts hurting if I do too much. I'm due for another injection and the last one helped but only lasts about 3-4 months. Hope you get some relief.

massage therapy
City of Houston is big on this, there's one on every corner. Not sure why they specify Asian or Thai therapists though.
