MY question for those in this thread. Does this man any kind of a legal recourse here?
Posted on 6/6/25 at 6:57 pm to Proximo
I would hunt that cop down torture him.

Plenty of times lol.
Never a good idea. Lost a guy in high school to a boating accident.

Always refuse, especially if you are shite faced.
Then don’t talk until they let you call your wife.

and the cop has to decide is this guy fricked up or just stupid? Let's take him to jail and find out.

Did you watch the video?

This one won't make it to Cops or On Patrol Live.

I got two tickets for questioning a cop outside of the Spanish Moon after 80s night. Had two beers the entire 3 or 4 hours I was there, and was driving back home through the neighborhood. Got pulled over and the cop is trying everything in the book to fail me on a sobriety test. Asked for the alphabet backwards, finally was trying to get me to walk backwards while saying a sentence and I had choice words. I got hit with a wreck less driving and illegal lane change. Such an a-hole.

yes. The cop said he was “fidgety” with his fingers when he opened his ice chest

Said he didn’t put it in neutral like he asked as PC to stop him for bui. Okay, you’re yelling at him over the sound of the motors—maybe he didn’t hear you clearly, and more likely, was just nervous.
I also thought the cop said “bellhorn” 100% sober in my living room. Tons of comments on YouTube also thought that as well because he said it quickly and didn’t put “a” in front of each word.
Another “indicator” was asking the cop to help him snap the life jacket because he couldn’t reach the snap (it was caught on the front and that’s why he couldn’t find it)
That cop is an idiot and anyone can tell the guy is sober watching the video. This isn’t a case where everyone on the boat is drunk and it’s likely the captain is as well. They’re all sober with little kids running around

My buddy and I volunteered as test subjects for State Police cadets. Got drunk at State Police HQ. Got field tested and breathalyzer tested by the cadets. Was fun. All booze and mixers provided courtesy of Louisiana tax dollars.
After it was over, we got taken in State Police cruisers anywhere we wanted to go in Baton Rouge. We said drop us off at Superiors on Government.
Everyone was looking at us in disbelief as we were chauffeured into the parking lot by the outside patio and fell out of the State Police cruisers drunk as Cooter Brown. They cruisers then took off and we went inside for more drinks.
Did that a couple times and brought some chick volunteers too. Ahhhh to be young again.

We would get stopped all the time in my 20s with a boat full of people drinking on the diversion, blind river, or tikfaw but me and my buddy rotated who drove each time we went out and we were completely sober if it was our driving day. They would just check papers and life jackets once they realized we were sober and send us on our way. Too many idiots on the water and too many people depending on me to enjoy the water to risk it. Plus whoever drove didn’t have to pay for booze once we were back at the camp. Very fun memories out there. Summer of 2009, we were at a camp or on the beach every weekend from mid May to mid august.

Your words have much wisdom in them for all to see. It shall be not guilty.

Did you watch the part of the video before cop made contact, and dude was speeding through no wake zones and not understanding channel markers, and the cop had to instruct him how to get out of his moronic predicament just to be able to make the stop? The cop had every right to suspect the guy with drunk/high and test him for it. According to the video, Florida doesn't allow onboard breathalizers. So the cop has no choice but to take him in to test him. Did you miss all those parts?

The guy in the video blew a 0.0 at the station I think, but they said no way he isn’t on some type of drug.
relied on the FST’s as their evidence for arrest and still booked him
This is the part about FST’s that really burns my arse. If you really think someone is on drugs after they blow .000, fine. Get a blood test, send it off, and let them go. If it comes back positive, get an arrest warrant and charge them. The cops shouldn’t be able to book people based on pseudoscience and a hunch.

I had a friend of a friend who was an Olympic gymnast. Went to Beijing as an alternate or something. Not long after that he got pulled over speeding sober and failed the field test and got arrested. Got out of it but spent like 8 hours in jail.
He was about 2 hours from home and they towed his car so had to have someone pick him up and wait for tow place to open.
If this guys balance wasn’t good enough, who’s is?

Not doubting what the game warden told you, so basically he said they are trying to frick you for adhering to the rules and follow the pen tip. Typical cops
