Exercise helps mine.

I put my headphones on and tune everything else out for a few hours a day if possible.

Usually walk two miles and throw some free weights around in the garage.

Also a good sleep pattern

Jesus should have been the first response but was the last on the first page....the OT is a strange place.

Pray, read the bible, and surround yourself with people who do the same.

I pray that God lifts your burden or strengthens your back.

1) start lifting weights
2) start taking 10-20g creatine daily
3) start eating lots of meat, meat focused diet
4) go for walks every afternoon with wife or kids or just to enjoy the sun
5) turn off the fricking news, get off social media and get off TD

and get on TRT.

Yes. Church, exercise, counseling, a decent job, positive support system.

That being said, if they bring back the lobotomy I’ll be first in line.
Spend 5 minutes reviewing the Rant or the Poli Board here and you’ll swear that lobotomies are currently a dime a dozen.

What tactics did you use? How do you stay out of depression?

I stopped using drugs, and went into therapy to get to the bottom of my issues. Turns out the drugs were helping to shield me from remembering a traumatic event that occurred when I was a very young child. My family was not interested in me recovering the memory of the event, since they were complicit in covering it up. (There should have been criminal charges.) It took many years of work, but I am now on the other side of that mess.

I agree that this is sometimes true. In my case, however, the therapist helped to point me in a direction that I suspected, but was reluctant to explore. If I had not had that validation, my recovery would have taken much longer.

When you’re sad, anxious, etc, it just means you’re alive. That’s a positive! Mind over matter. Try to remember that and know that we will have sad things that happen in life. Everyone will. Try to mentally prepare yourself for that. Staying physically strong and mentally strong go hand in hand so exercise. Socialize, get sunlight, pray, ground yourself barefoot on sand or in grass or the ocean. Eat a clean diet. Drugs and alcohol will only worsen depression. Surround yourself with positive people.

Do not watch news. Do not go on social media. AT ALL.

Exercise, run, swim, bike, lift weights.

Take walks in the sun. No sunscreen.

Stay hydrated with not only water but electrolytes.

A big one for me. Watch shows, movies that I did in childhood. Nostalgia crap is so good for the soul
