re: Anybody work for Enterprise?

Knew a guy that worked there for several years. He quit and got a job selling firearms at Palmetto State Armory.

How is it stressful?

“We got a small, medium or large car, what you want?”.........”Ok, sign here”

They actually have a highly reputable sales management development program. If you get on with them, you can advance and they are good about sending their people to B-school. Work there a while for experience, and get them to foot the bill for your MBA...there are definitely worse places to work.

We had a bunch of ex Enterprise employees at my old job. I was a claims adjuster. Crap job but good experience. Most quit within a year or two.

The amount of volume. Dealing with the public.

I worked there long ago for a few years, so much may have changed. It can be pretty stressful with how they manage their inventory and their "book, no look policy" which corporate will tell you does not exist, but is the reality in every branch.

You will learn a lot from the job. Great sales training and a great place to learn how to deal with the public.

Most renters are already angry when they come in because they have just realized that the insurance policy they purchased will only go towards $10-$12/ day for a rental car, and the cheapest car is around $20/day; and that's for a dodge neon and they drove a range rover, and they cannot understand why they aren't getting a luxury vehicle for free.

Morally, I felt the company was a terrible place with how they handle upselling when you do not have the reserved car in stock and the "book no look policy" I mentioned above, and was ultimately why I left.

You will have some unique experiences. You haven't lived until you are in a car chase to repo one of the vehicles.

Also, be prepared for some disgusting returns. Used condoms, hand guns, drugs, dirty diapers and old spoiled food are just a few of the things you should be prepared to clean up in the return cars. (Don't assume you will have a car prep on staff to the clean cars, they call in or don't show up often, leaving you to clean the car).

Overall, like any early job. Work hard and learn from it, both the good and the bad.

It caught me off guard, but I just asked him a bunch of questions about the chosen topic and at the end asked, "so you would be interested in purchasing this item?"

He said I did a good job.

I was trained at the Professional Sales Institute at LSU, so I know my professor would disappointed if I had failed that question.

All I really needed to know. I feel as thought the training will come in handy. I worked as a lifeguard for a country club when I was a teen, and dealt with my fair share of spoiled a-hole parents. I do not know if this compares

How is the atmosphere in the workplace?
