Beyond that, I am not sure why I am supposed to care about a bunch of pampered babies that are highly paid to do a job that thousands are qualified for.

Their self-given awards are not really awards. They are political trinkets given because they did favors, have more friends, banged the producers, or are the chosen race for that particular award.

I just don't understand why anybody cares about their personal lives, opinions, or what trinkets they "earned".

It's a circlejerk of people giving themselves often ridiculous awards. There are seriously people somewhere in this country who believe Shakespeare in Love was a great film??

I am frankly surprised so many of you people watch it.

Nobody on TD will admit they watch but especially on the Poliboard there will be multiple threads about every single thing that was said.

I love the hypocrisy of awards shows. Also love the hypocrisy of TD awards show threads. High entertainment

Why are people so anti watching the oscars but so many of the people that don’t watch it watch movies throughout the year?

Movies can be entertaining

A bunch of out of touch rich people congratulating one another while lecturing the rest of America on how to live their lives isn’t as entertaining

You mean a group of sexual deviants lecturing us on respecting women rings hollow?

Jimmy Kimmel is a giant douchebag. I won't watch because he's a hypocritical, sanctimonious jerk.

Why does their political views have to be connected to the films? Good movie is a good movie.
