Because the damn cards stop reading some times. Only reason I go in there.

Did that once.

Very overrated unless she's naked.

This thread will identify who owns their own business and who doesn't .

Because I travel a good bit and like to have some place to walk into where someone can handle some shite if it goes wrong. The scale of that chart is all exaggerated to hell and it is not worth the tiny difference in interest paid to give up that service.

Haven't been inside of a bank in probably 3-4 years. Once you could deposit checks from your phone I had no reason to go other than to the Atm occasionally.

That's great most of the time but if you have a problem with your account, or your credit score is right on the borderline for getting that great interest rate, its better to be dealing with a real person who knows you by name than some operator in a call center.

If you run a business that deals in cash much (and most retail outfits do) then you'll need a B&M bank to handle cash exchanges.

Also, vault services (aka safe deposit box). They aren't as common anymore but are still around.

? What exactly is exaggerated? Everything looks pretty linear to me.

And I guess if your balance is small the interest difference is small, so if you're poor you might not care too much. Is that what you're saying?

My friend's ex used one of those online only banks. He liked it until he lost his debit card. Had to wait a couple days until a new one arrived in the mail(bank refused to overnight him one). Had no way to get any cash out and had to put everything on his credit card or borrow the money from my friend until the new card arrived.

I belong to a local credit union and there's really nothing that I can't do over the phone or online. I realize some people have the need to go to a branch like to deposit cash but I really don't. It amazes me that there are still so many bank branches out there. There are probably 10 within 2 miles of my house.

He couldn't live off a credit card for all of 2 whole days?

Was longer than that. He lost it on a Friday evening...that Monday was a holiday. Iirc...he had some bills due the same time. I just remember my friend telling me about it when it happened and what an inconvenience it was.

I do. I still get a paper check with no option of direct deposit. I go deposit it and get a couple hundred back as cash every Friday. I hit the drive through and then go grab something good good for lunch so it’s not a big inconvenience. I have done the mobile deposit with my phone a few times though.

They are actually building more. A few years ago they were predicting the demise of the bank branch. That may yet happen, but not any time soon.

A point and a half interest on an account is nearly as useless as a tenth of a point.
