I was in high school when that happened and I remember seeing it on the news. I remember how scared people were just to pump gas and go to the grocery store. I remember they canceled youth games and I just can’t imagine the anxiety people were going through at that time. I would be freaking out just pumping gas being a easy target. Anybody have any stories?

I remember not getting shot. It was awesome. Hard to describe just how nice it was at the time.

No, but driving through Nola East twice a day for work stirs similar anxiety.

No but he was from South Louisiana and did this at the same time that (at least) 2 other serial killers were running wild in the BR area

I didn't live there but I remember traveling to the area a few times while it was going on and I definitely had my head on a swivel. Definitely recall being nervous pumping gas.

I remember eating dinner at a Ponderosa which shared a parking lot where one of the shootings had recently happened.

People were holding up metal garbage can lids like they were shields. A lot more people were wearing urban camo. Crazy times.

I remember watching the Angels-Giants World Series and having it interrupted for an update.

Wasn't there 2 of them, so technically snipers (plural) correct? The younger one was small enough to fit into the trunk of a car where they bore out several holes so he could stick the barrel of his rifle through and kill people in parking lots or on the road. That's some sinister shite right there.

Yes, I lived in northern Virginia at the time in one of the towns where someone was killed pumping gas. The only time I ever really thought about it was pumping gas. I just remember thinking, “I hope my wife gets back into the car safely.”

Yes, I went to high school a few miles from one of the Sunoco gas station murders. That fall there were always police officers at football practices, drivers Ed outside was cancelled, you just generally didn’t hang out near a gas station.

I was a junior at the time and had a neighbor who was a freshman, I offered him a ride to school in the mornings on the condition that he pumped my gas. I was kind of a dick I suppose,

I also remember my mom waking up each morning to check the news, if he had shot someone they would shut down all the interstates and thus she wouldn’t be able to drive into the city.

I moved to Ballston in January 2002. I shopped at the 7 Corners Home Depot right before it got shot up. They told us to look out for a white SUV or van. Welp, that's half the vehicles on the roads. I would go out to lunch with co-workers and we would count all the white SUVs in the parking lot.

That's all I got.

He shot a couple people in Montgomery too. Did it from a Taco Bell that we frequented in high school all the time. Shot some people at the ABC store across the street and then went to DC.

I visited there during the time. Watching the local news up there and heard a familiar voice on TV. Street beat story about the baton rouge shooting connection. I think they knew who the shooters were just looking for them.
