Anybody happy with their AC monthly service?

I have been thinking about getting the ac monthly service and I didn’t know if the $19.99 is worth it. Does anybody who has this service happy with it and is it worth it?

Why would you need monthly?
When I bought my Trane it came with 10 years of checkups in the spring and fall

Air Conditioning? That's crazy and just a ploy for residual income from AC companies. An AC needs a good look over about once every 6 months to a year.

It’s basically an income stream for them and pays for the semi annual cleaning trip.
I think most places you get a break on emergency calls also.
Based on the quality of job I’ve seen most AC techs do I choose to do the annual cleaning myself. If you aren’t taking apart the condenser housing you aren’t doing it right.

Is it a monthly maintenance service or a monthly payment for them to give you priority, weekend emergency repairs at no extra cost etc and parts at reduced rates? Also does it include the 6 month 5” filter instead of the crappy thin things? Some AC contractors are pretty decent.

Nah, I just get them to come out once per year about this time and do a clean and check.
Our 8 yr old Trane is still the coldest ac I've ever owned. It can be 100 and I can keep the house at 71 during the middle of the summer.

Dude, change the intake filter and wash the outside condenser unit once a month. 
AC system is a closed loop system. There is nothing else you can do other they when something breaks.

It still cuts off during the summer. It's been a great unit so far. Now that I say that, it will go out this weekend.
Our house is right around 2400 sq ft and we have a 5 ton. According to this chart we are right on the 4-5 ton line. Perhaps that's why it cools really well.

Got a Rudd that does the same. My house is sealed and I put a ton of extras were one doesn't see it to seal/insulate the house when I built it. Besides that, I have high ceiling thru out the house. Now heating, those high ceiling make my system shite to heat. BUT, that only happens 3 months out the year.

We probably run the heater 10 days a year.
