Nah...it's price gouging.
But it’s not.
Regardless of what you think. We aren’t in a disaster and it’s not an essential good.
It’s basically impossible to price gouge crawfish.

They sell their shite for cash and get whatever they want either way.
That shite is abused like no other.
Plus we upped our cash assistance in LA too.

Aint no way sit down prices are $3-$4.50 when farm prices go to $1-$1.5. They won't go lower than $5 and that doesn't include all dem fixins like corn, potato, sausage, mushrooms etc.
In May in southwest LA they are
You can get boil and go for $2.50 on certain nights of the week when people run specials
According to KATC crawfish infect the avg restaurant price on march 24 since 2014 is $5.63 and March 24 is always in Lent

Prices through the roof.

I buy 26/30s for $2.50#. 2 pounds of whole shrimp will yield about 1lb of meat. It takes 8 1/2-9lbs of crawfish to yield 1 lb of meat.

harvest will be great, costs up due to labor shortage, fuel costs, ukraine, bama not in CFP, california slave reparations, famine in bangladesh, harry and megan and of course LSU losing to aTm.

If you have to ask you can’t afford it

I’m convinced crawfish prices are set by the crawfish mafia. If it rains it’s too wet. If he doesn’t rain, too dry. Then it’s either too hot or too cold.
Posted on 1/6/23 at 9:20 pm to sidewalkside
Well it's too cold so they're gonna be expensive, but when it gets hot it will also be the same reason.
Then if we are luck and the weather stays 76 degrees and only light afternoon showers then the excuse will be inflation.

My catfish ponds are full of huge crawfish I just put traps out every February and have a big tank with aeration I store them in. They’re all bigger than most you buy from Louisiana. Caught 1500 lbs last year with 40 traps
Can we be friends?
