They have shitty vegetable oils in them. That’s why they’re not good.

My FIL was a good man who grew up in a farm. MIL made turnip greens for him every holiday meal and he was the only one who ate them. The rest of the family and I like greens but won’t eat them when there are so many other options.

Since he passed she still makes the greens and now they go untouched. I almost ate some out of obligation but went with the sweet potato casserole instead.

No, thank god. Everyone in my family are naturally gifted cooks. Not exaggerating.

An aunt always makes homemade cranberry sauce

Its not bad but nobody thinks about using cranberry sauce these days and it basically goes unused.

What is this, hotdog jello?

I believe the correct culinary term is "Frankfurts Viennese in aspic."

Green beans, cream of mushroom, mozzarella cheese, topped with fried onions?

Add Tabasco! My mother made it and now my sister makes like she did. My wife does a pretty good job making it but not as good as my sister does.

Step grandma used to make potato salad. The potatoes were seriously undercooked. Nobody tried it more than once.

Greenbean casserole

My wife of 30+ years always loved Greenbean casserole. I always thought it looked good but could never stomach it. I would always try it but no go.

All of a sudden about a year ago, I starting loving it. Can't get it often enough now.

At my wife's inlaws one cousins mother's aunt or something makes this egg and cheese and jalapeños casserole. It's a dish I look forward to every year. But not many seem to enjoy it.
