Has anyone on the OT gone to/visited Louisiana College in Pineville? I went to school there back in 2006-2007. The school has definitely had its ups and downs, probably a lot more downs than ups though, in the past decade. Anybody go to school there currently?

You were there during the chaotic reign of Joe Aquilar, yes? That must have been something.

The biggest problem with LA College is that it is a victim of circumstances. Its private, so it costs more. Most of its degree programs are offered elsewhere like LSUA or Northwestern. The better students in the state usually go to LSU, Tech, or ULL.

Yep. For 1 year. Total waste of time and money. I’ve advised several kids to just avoid that place.

I went there in the mid 80s and loved it but did finish at NLU. Have some friends that have kids that have and are attending now.

My wife went there. All of her stories include the phrase, "yea.....but we made it fun."

I went to visit a HS buddy there. He was living in a house across the street with the student body president. We smoked weed.

What exactly was peoples beef with the guy. I remember my wife saying everyone was pissed and wanted him out, but even she didn't really get the full extent of it??

It has a surprisingly beautiful campus. One of the nicest in the state. No clue about what it has to offer academically though.

He was a huge narcissist that funneled money towards vanity projects like a law school and a med school instead of keeping the campus from falling into ruin. He was also a fundamentalist that pushed out many of the best professors because they weren't Calvinist (lol) enough for his taste.

He was given a professor emeritus position and allowed to teach one religion class in retirement, but as more dirt came out and people got more disgusted with him, the college fired him and let him know by changing the lock on his office door.

He filed a couple of lawsuits after that for breach of contract trying to milk LC for money, but I believe they both failed.

That all makes sense.... all I remember was hearing something that sounded like he was a different brand of baptist

that's b/c it's a small baptist college in central Louisiana that plays in NCAA D3?

and yes... it has a football team... and I believe 1 of their former players actually starts (or started) along the O-Line for the Colts

ETA: FWIW... I didn't know it existed either until I got up to Alexandria to work at LSUA

ETA2: Jeremy Vujnovich was the players name... started all 16 games in 2017 for the Colts... was released and picked up by the Cardinals for 2018... played in 5 games and started 2 before getting placed on IR

Really I don't care what steps lead up to it, but I want it to end with the locks being changed on his door

Had 4 HS classmates go there.

3 transferred out after the first year, and 1 stayed b/c he was on a full scholarship.

Don’t know how he did it.
