a slap on the arse isn't creating a criminal.

Never like that but once when I was 15-16, my dad and I were wrestling on our knees in the living room. I decided I was gonna show him who the REAL man of the house was. He sensed this and had me pinned on my back in about a second an a half.

Him: “Are you done?”
Me: “Yes sir…”

It isn’t really doing anything though. It’s just a frustrated parent.

That kid will grow into an adult that makes emotional decisions and solves problems with violence. Exactly what is wrong with that population already.

This.

I had a few kids I grew up with who's parents beat the hell out of them like this and all of them turned out to be screwed up in the head and major trouble when they got older.
Of course the other parts of the shitty parenting they got factored into that as well.

A quick spank to get a kids attention for a minor infraction, sure, no harm no foul

But thinking spanking can be a true lesson teacher makes no sense to me. Because if it’s light, the kid forgets about it after a fleeting moment.

If it’s hard as hell to where they really remember it, you are just teaching violence is the answer

We have all been kids. We would much rather a light spank than taking something away from us we truly care about. But doing that is much harder and takes more will power from the parent

Maybe that little fricker told his momma she was a ho

As a junior in HS I made the mistake of saying my Mom was acting like a bitch. Next thing I know my dad's shoe is flying at my head and he's charging at me. I tried to run up stairs and lock the door to my room but he nailed me with his other shoe and caught me and gave me a deserved arse beating. No fists, just the belt.

I don't blame him at all, I was being an ungrateful shithead.

Or someone that's not a total pussy and oblivious to pain. Some can control that deep darkness unless it's really needed and solve problems with violence then and only then. Someone that's never had the shite beaten out of them still has the fear of pain.

How often do you smack the ole lady around to make sure she knows who the boss of the house is?

Don't have to. She knows her place.

The fact you you think that’s the only other option is hilarious

For one, no tv, no tablet, and if he plays baseball and loves it, take him out of that until he learns to behave. But doing that takes discipline as a parent. Much more than a 5 second hit. If you have a kid that’s constantly doing shite like that either ylu have never done any of the above as a parent, or you have a kid with an issue you might need to see a specialist for

But yeh, I’ve seen plenty of welfare queens beating the shite out of bad kids at Walmart in my time. Seems to really work….

shite, as a kid, I wish my momma had been that restrained. She was like Yoda with a hickory switch.

Only when dad came home drunk and got pissed off after listening to mom’s nagging.

The reason it doesn’t seem to work is those “welfare queens” have no clue how to discipline a kid. They think it means just whipping their arse when they mess up. It’s not nearly that simple. All whipping can do is teach a kid about how their actions have consequences. So while whipping can be a good tool in teaching and correcting your kids, it’s not the end-all-be-all.

My Pops worked 12 hour swings. He'd get in at ~7:30 every morning. I had done something or the other and smarted off to my Mom when she got on to me. At around ~7:35 one Saturday morning I awoke in a start to the sound of a snapping belt.

Now, my bed was against a wall, in the corner of the bedroom. There was no escape. Following the snap came the whipping. It was Summer and all I had on the bed was a sheet. I can say for a fact that it was not adequate defense.

I attempted to file war crimes charges. I was unsuccessful.
