The Superformance roller is built in South Africa and is not a kit.
Referred to as a “manufactured” car.
Finished, assembled and painted less engine, trans, bell housing and clutch and tires.
3 years ago the rollers were $68,000. plus options.
Their chassis number for the MK lll is getting close to 4,000. which is almost 4 times the number of originals built.
Most popular engine is Roush 427 SR
510 HP
With engine, trans, Avon tires to help keep the rear end from swapping ends and paying somebody like Olthoff Racing to complete it, set it up and tweak it and road test it, you will be on the plus side if $120,000.
All new components, no kit, no donor car or parts.
Also, no safety items other than a roll bar, collapsible steering column and lap and shoulder racing belts.
So a dangerous 4 wheel motorcycle so to speak
Like the originals, it weighs roughly 2,450 pounds
Check out Superformance website

Good deal.
Had about six years of instability myself.
I get it.

“You can tell it’s not a 300,000 Shelby”
LOL. There were only 31 427 S/C cars sold.
Multiply your 300,000. by 3 and keep going.
Bring me every $300,000. Original S/C you can find. I will buy everyone of those unicorns.
For somebody serious about a Cobra “kit” do yourself a huge favor and take a hard look at the ERA kit built on the east coast.
Considered the absolute best “kit”.
The owner of ERA cast the fiberglass body off of his original 427 S/C he owned years ago.

Buddy of mine in HS had a Karmen Ghia kit car. It had aerodynamics all around and actually looked pretty good.
Kinda similar to this but in dark brown with copper trim, stripes, and a curvy pattern:
It was still a 60’s/70’s era VW drivetrain underneath so his parents were comfortable with it. (Like 60hp and a rather long legged manual transmission).

Like I said, Ford isn't my wheelhouse. Chevy is. I've never tried to buy a cobra

The FFR kit I priced out was just north of $28,000 delivered. Plus another 30,000 to finish. Did not order the car.

No my generation predates that stuff. His had a little boxier cockpit, the glass all around was flatter. Not flat flat, just not as round and lights were not wrap around (separate rear, left side, right side).

Meh, Just buy a Boxster S...you and 99% of people will be faster in it, more reliable, easier to drive, and it's a Porsche.

Just wanted to add that I love this thread.
Only thing that would make it better would be pictures of cars being rebuilt.

I know that guy. I just saw him at the car show/hot air balloon festival in Zachary 2 weeks ago I think. He was there and that's a nice car

He is a great guy and very active in community service and car shows. His car is top level of workmanship.
What year is your Camaro?
Another friends Superformance Cobra. Pic is not that great, but only one I have of it.

Is the owner of the blue car a Lakeview resident?

I always wanted one of those sand rails built with the VW drivetrain

My dad and I built a Fiber Fab 1952 MGTD kit car using a 69 VW Beetle chassis. We built it in 1981. My sister drove it a good bit when she was in college. Then it was parked from about 1987 to 2010. My dad wanted it out of his garage so I took it, got it running again, and still drive it occasionally.
