<---- 33, Mason & Shriner, we're not all old.

I used to fish with Shriners. I now prefer crickets.

Not to argue with you, but you are mistaken on the Catholic part. You are correct on the second part in that we hate seeing crippled children not treated because of finances, same with burn victims.

quote:
All of my great uncles were masons and my dad and uncles were lapsed masons.
I don't think the masons were ever as big in South Louisiana as they were in the rest of the South because of the old Catholic stance against the Masons.
I don't think there as big anywhere as they were in like 1950 or 1960,
fun fact, opelousas masonic lodge is the oldest masonic lodge west of the Mississippi

My uncle was a Shriner. He was active in it until the last few years of his life when he was medically unable to do a lot of things. A lot of good deeds done. He was a very good man. When he passed away, I'd never seen so many people at a funeral. He had a lot of friends.
I've thought about joining. I know of at least three Masons at my work, one who is in his mid-30's. I'm 37. If I do decide to join, it will be in the next year or two. I've always been told that I have an old soul, so hanging out with older Masons doesn't sound that bad of an idea. Old timers often have great stories, and good life advice.

Hold on the shriners are a muslim leaning group?

I bought my bro a fez at a second hand store. The Shriners in the parade weren't happy. If they made a move for it, I would have put them in a camel clutch.

I'm surprised it's never been used as a wrestling gimmick, wearing a fez to the ring while driving one of the mini scooters to the ring.

I'm a Knight of Peter Claver. We wear fez. Maybe I'll rock it this weekend.
