any tips\suggestions for plants & pipes with upcoming arctic blast approaching

Does running a sink or two prevent the pipes from freezing?
Should you run hot water or cold water?
Best method to cover your plants to prevent them from dying?
I was told to cover with paint canvas as its cheaper and slightly heavier than trash bags.

Depends on what kind of plant. Some need no attention. Insulate incoming pipe for water supply. Pencil lead thickness stream of water (cold). You should have handled this months ago.

Most of our shrubs/plants are warm weather species
And many houses weren't really designed for weather that cold. I remember when it got down to 9 in the 80s and about 75% of our neighborhood had some kind of busted pipe issue.

It is really simple if you have a house on a slab
Put the foam covers for outside spigots.
If you have any outside water pipe wrap that too
Voila, you are done

Yes. Usually drip the furthest faucet from your main. Does not hurt to also drip a couple others while your at it.

Cold unless your water heater is outside

Sheet. you want to keep the frost off them. Trash bags wont do this adequately.

The grow lights will provide plenty of warmth if the power stays on.

A lot of cheaply built slab houses have water pipes in the ceiling. Of course this doesn't apply to the ballers of the OT.

Ours has those red and blue tubes. Those better or worse for freezing temps?
