Been in cricket for 10 years. It’s been great. I pay $110 for 4 lines and a hotspot. All unlimited.

I spend $118 per month with my ATT . My Dad keeps telling me I’m getting ripped off, and I’ve held off because it’s a business line and I use an hotspot every day with clients and I was afraid there could be a screw up or inferior coverage. Guess I need to stop giving my money away.

We've been with consumer cellular for years. We are happy with them. Light years better than Straight Talk.

I've seen all of the commercials, but never really paid any attention to them...just been paying Verizon out of habit.
What's the catch with all of these companies? Why wouldn't everyone be doing this instead of paying out the arse with Verizon or AT&T?

Yep, first to Tracfone, then Mint Mobile. Generally happy with both, though I sometimes had issues with Tracfone support, but that was pre-Verizon ownership. Service has been reliable for both.

I just switched to pure talk yesterday. Still waiting for sim card to be delivered. $29.95 unlimited everything w/ 30gb hotspot. It's normally their highest plan at $65/month but this was a black friday deal and it's supposed to be $29.95/month for life. We shall see how it goes. Seems too good to be true

see my post above. They are running a sale right now and they will give it to existing customers if you call and demand it.

Consumer Cellular.
I’m about to switch from AT&T to Consumer Cellular to take advantage of the “senior” discounts. I need a new phone though. Still using an iPhone 11, and it struggles sometimes running the new iOS.

We left Verizon and switched to Mint last year. Been fine except game days at LSU I have zero chance of completing a call or most texts.
Cut our bills in half. Which is a big deal with several teenagers.
Mint relies on T-Mobile, so as they improve coverage so will Mint.

Is it really a discount carrier if it has everything a mainstream carrier has?

Probably a very dumb question but this topic has me very interested and I know very little. My ignorant dumbass thought all these services were only used by poor af people in the ghetto
What’s the process if I wanted to switch from ATT to one of these? We’ve always used ATT so when purchasing a phone/watch we just do the monthly installments. Worth it to bite the bullet and pay off all the devices on the account and switch?

My concern was the T-Mobile coverage, but my buddy Tommy says they don't suck anymore.
Switched to TMO 12+ years ago and the coverage has gotten better and better. It's really not an issue anymore and they'reat the top in coverage in many cases. What is an issue is the new CEO. They're no longer the customer centric company and instead going for the jugular. I have a grandfathered plan for 4 lines unlimited for $150 plus they gave me a free line so essentially I have 5 lines for $150. I don't know what their prices are these days but they did have good price/plans before.
The main draw for me, and it's served me well, is the free data/texting to 180+ countries. I use it all the time. Also, the WiFi calling works great and for free from anywhere. I called my dad when I was in the Falklands a few weeks ago! Even if you had to pay for a call to the US, they only charge .20/min from those 180 countries. If I didn't need international though, I think I might look at a discount carrier. TMO is not that anymore.
