Desperate for a pool? You can now rent a private one by the hour

he coronavirus pandemic has millions of Americans shut out of public pools this summer, and that has opened up a huge opportunity for one small start-up. Swimply has been compared with Airbnb and VRBO, because it’s employs a similar strategy, only for pools.
Barely 2 years old, the company has seen 2,000% growth this summer, according to its 20-something year-old co-founders from New York and New Jersey. Prices range anywhere from $15 to $300 per hour, depending on the type of pool, location and additional amenities offered — like restroom access. Some homeowners also have hot tubs by the pool. Swimply will also work with homeowners to provide portable restrooms if they want.
I'm sure your homeowner's insurer loves you renting your pool out. I bet the neighbors would love the portable toilets.

Not necessary - there's already a pool right there

Before I'd rent mine, I need a application filled out WITH photos of the renters.

Meh, got lakes, bayous, and creeks close enough for free.

Yeah just what I want, to go jump in some random guy’s pool with my wife while the owner watches from inside.

Sounds like a mashup with Tinder would be even better.

I'll stick to my above ground blue pool in front of my trailer, thank you very much.

Sounds like a bad idea. How does homeowner's insurance cover anything that may happen?

Who is trashier in this situation? The pool owner or the pool renter?

Only the young ones are fitting to eat. The old ones are tough and bitter. The only thing you can really do is stew em.

I dont even see any listed in any major town in the south?
I cant imagine the absolute white trash nonsense that would be listed.
But I put in LA and as far as LA standards it was pretty meh. A couple Hollywood Hills houses that are 1.5m+ dollars renting the average pools in that class house for 60 an hour.
Why would you bother.

You have me curious. Went to their website and downloaded their app. Neither can connect.

Of course the OT shits on this.
You have to admit that it is a smart idea.
Same concept as Airbnb and that vehicle renting thing.
Obviously nothing is risk free.

I'm no longer allowed to rent through that site on account I left a floater in the homeowner's pool.
